1. Summer Term 15th
-26th
May.
Dear Parents,
Activities we will be doing in Preschool:
Focusing on the development of the children’s early writing skills. This
includes the development of hand and finger strength which is
necessary for them to be able to hold and control mark making tools.
Learning our rhyme of the week which is ‘This little piggy went to
market.’
Activities to do at home with your child:
Now that the weather is improving, try to give your child different
opportunities for mark making, e.g. chalks to use on the garden path,
paintbrushes and water to ‘paint’ the fence, painting easels outside
(less messy than indoors!) Using plasticine and playdough are also good
for developing hand strength, encourage your child to squeeze it hard,
roll it, poke it. Have a look for ‘Dough Disco’ on Youtube to get some
ideas and have some fun!
Read some traditional tales e.g. Billy Goats Gruff, Jack and the
Beanstalk that have repeated refrains and get your child to join in
with them.
Notices:
Preschool closes on Friday 26th
May for half term, we reopen on
Monday 5th
June.
Sainsbury’s Active Kids offer has now finished so please check your
