Analysing advert

Introduction
The advert is for Barnardos Charity trying to join as many people as they can to stop the problem. However in the advert you
can see adult sitting on the chair answering a question. The adult talks about his feelings and emotions by saying “things are
good” he also talks about his kid so we can understand that he is happy at this moment. In the next couple of seconds we can
see the same person sitting in the same chair but about 5 years younger than he was at first. Than he's talking about
nightmares and anger control he also mention that he see the way out so at that moment we can see that his past wasn't that
good. Than it shows the same place same chair the same person but when he was teenager. The teenager talks with loud
voice and anger saying not to trust anyone. In the next couple of seconds we can see the same environment with same
person but when he was about 10 years. The boy was after the fight with the big anger issues trying to say that never call him
that again. After couple of seconds we can see the same background same person but when he was about 6 years old. The
little boy was sad and disappointment and his words was “mommy's boyfriend hit me again”. After a couple seconds we can
see little boy about 3 years old sitting on the chair with bruises on his face saying “I'm scared”. After that little slogan comes
with sad music.
Introduction
The advert format is part of the series it continuing the same theme but not
characters.
The purpose of the advert is to expand the company and get people inform
about child abuse.
The platform for this advert is Tv and Online.
The target audience is Parents or adults because they show kids anjd ask
audience to join them.
Mode of Address
The advert use informal language also people speak directly to the camera. The
advert use lound, sad instrumental music and voiceovers. The person tells the
camera how he feels and talks about his anger issues and other problems.
Advert techniques
In the ad they use techniques like sympathy they use little and sad kid. They also
use slogans at the end of the advert “it doesn't have to end like it began” They
also use a little of guilt technique by showing scared and sad kids. They trying to
make audience feel sorry for the kids at that point people feel guilty that problems
like that exist in the world and automatically audience joins company to fight
against that.
Messages and values
The advert use mise-on-scene like costumes. The costumes was t-shirt and blue jeans. However the advert showed life
story from the adult to the kid and costumes have been same of all time. The advert also used sad, slow instrumental music
to make audience more emotional.The advert had just one prop who was used and it was chair. However the message of
the advert was to show audience how boy was abused in young age and how that effect his future. The effect of abused
was anger issues and not trusting people. However the advert also show how he changed and how he solved his issues
and made his own family. At the end of the advert they show slogan saying “it doesn’t have to end like it began” by saying
that they mean that if the guys step dad abused him it, that he can change and don't do the same things for his own
children.
