The document describes a proposed mobile app called the Self-Esteem Booster (S.E.B.) aimed at helping 12-21 year olds cope with low self-esteem, depression, and preventing self-harm and suicide. The app would allow users to chat anonymously, share their stories, and view supportive messages from others. It also includes a mirror page where users can upload photos of themselves. The goal is to provide a safe, supportive space for users struggling with their self-image or dealing with bullying to help overcome feelings of depression or thoughts of self-harm without dangerous behaviors like isolation or self-harm.
2. We are addressing 12-21 year olds
We are trying to help people get higher self-esteem
We are hoping the app is used any time
someone feels low or depressed
People can use this app anywhere they want, at
home, in school, on the bus
We have created this app so that people don’t self
harm or commit suicide, as figures of self-harm
and suicide are on the rise
3. The problem is that it is becoming more common
that teens get bullied, depressed then lock
themselves in their room and self-harm, there have
been cases where people have hung themselves
from being bullied. This app is trying to stop people
from doing that, by being a safe place for people to
talk and share their stories.
4. How can you avoid self-harming, or pro-
longed depression?
5. People who have self-esteem problems currently try to talk
to people, wear clothes that fit their figure well and lock
themselves in their room, but some of these solutions don’t
work because most of the time you won’t like your figure
when you’re already upset and if you lock yourself in your
room you’re locking up your feelings. Our key insight is that
people need to talk to others that have been in the
situation to help them overcome their problem.
6. Our app, the Self-Esteem Booster or ‘S.E.B’ will
help people going through hard times feel better, it
is aimed at teens and young adults. In it, you have
your own account and some other options that you
can click on like a chat page and a ‘share your
story’ page with stories from other people. There is
also a mirror page where you can upload or take a
photo of yourself and then there is a ‘HELP’ page,
with Child Line numbers, website links and email.
7. ANON 1:-
She is a school child and goes to BRGS.
She experiences the problem of low self-esteem when she looks in the
mirror.
To solve the problem of low self-esteem she wears clothes that fit her
figure.
The outcome she wants is to be skinnier.
At the moment she is fairly happy with current solutions.
ANON 2:-
She is a school child and goes to BRGS.
She experiences the problem of low self-esteem when she is told things
by people that aren’t very nice.
She solves the problem of low self-esteem by going into her room and
crying, then thinking ‘why did they say that?’
The outcome she wants is for people to stop saying those things.
She isn’t happy with the current solutions.
8. We didn’t find any other apps that did exactly what
ours does. There were other alternatives such as
social media sites, but they aren’t protected fully
from hate messages, and that is the main part about
our app, protection
9. ANON 1:-
AS A USER I WANT TO FEEL SKINNIER, SO I DON’T FEEL BAD
LOOKING IN THE MIRROR
ANON 2:-
AS A USER I WANT TO NOT CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK, SO
I CAN FEEL BETTER AS A PERSON

14. Yes it is possible. I think it would be difficult, but will just
about be possible, with a lot of work. I have learnt about
many programming techniques and languages, and things to
do on the app.
15. Our customer pledges are that we promise to boost self-
esteem by providing a safe environment for them to chat and
share images.
16. Our marketing strategy is that we are going to market it in
the various app stores and we are going to hopefully voice it
to the nation with some flyers.
17. Our group has also created a website showing the main page
of the app, SIGN IN/REGISTER
