2. Most Shocking
Second a Day Video
This advert uses mainly one camera shot, which is a one shot that mainly focuses
on the little girl which is the main character in this short advertised film. It uses
diegetic sound in throughout the short advertised film. The advert also uses a
quick cutting rate throughout the film. The quick cutting rate could signify that
something is going to happen that will affect the main character or it may be used
to show the changing of the scene that the character is in. This advert has a
subject content of war. This advert is very affective because, it is about a subject
that it is effecting the world heavily at this very moment and it also affective
because, it focuses on a little girl and this is usage of sympathy because no
parent would want this happening to any of their children. This is effective as it
also uses persuasion by showing the audience the consequences of what could
possibly happen to their children. The codes and conventions that are used to
communicate that war can affect any person in any type of environment is that,
the little girl is in places that people wouldn't expect war to take place in. For
example, she is shown walking down a normal in what looks like a London-like
area. This can suggests that the advert is saying that just because Just because
you live in a first world country, doesn't mean that this can't happen to you. At the
same time, it doesn't mean that this isn't currentlyhappening around the world,
because it is. Which could also be seen as advert using sympathy to make people
sorry for people that are affected by this and make them want to donate money to
help improve their situation. The audience that I believe this advert is aimed at is
people that are 16 years above, Reason being that once at this age, you able to
start having your own conscious and able to think yourself and also donate
money of your own. The social class that I believe that this would aimed at would
be the working class and middle class, because the people in social classes that
above the middle class would not focus their attention on things like this, they
would rather focus on things such as their income.
3. The time of day that this advert would be shown on television would be
after six pm when most of the soap dramas come on television. This would
be a good and appropriatetime because, it is when most families are all
sitting around the television when it is being shown. This would increase
the chances of money being donated because, it would make the families
feel sympathy because their children would be there watching the advert
as well.
