2. The masthead is a large ‘V’ which stands for the
magazine ‘Vibe’. It is always featured on vibe
magazine contents pages and is positioned in the top
half of the page which keeps the magazines
consistent and look proffesional. This is sort of a logo
for vibe, which makes the magazine recognisable.
The ‘V’ also matches with the background colour
which is grey. The main is mid shot of the rapper
Kanye West who has an arm coming over his
shoulder hiding a heart shaped object, which is the
only bright colour used on the page. This could show
that the woman is trying to win over his heart. Kanye
West is dressed quite smart which also matches the
colour of the background. The word ‘contents’ is in a
large bold black font which is not in a straight line but
is split up in 3 lines. This is also goes with the
background. The sub headings are like the word
contents with big bold black fonts which show the
reader the main features. However the font used is
very stylish and fancy which links to the colour
scheme and Kanye West’s clothes. The brief headings
and page number are positioned under the
subheadings which shows the category it comes
under and it shows the reader what the main stories
are and the page number it is on. In the bottom right
of the page there are a few lines of the text which tell
the reader the artists name, where and when the
photo was taken and who took the picture. This gives
fans extra information.
3. The masthead titles ‘Billboard’ this is shown
to be very small but remains the same on how
they are shown on the front convers. There is
a chart list which gives the audience an update
of what is current. The singles and artists are
categorised by colours so readers can easily
know the chart number of the artist/song. The
background is greatly white besides the charts
list which is grey. The two colours allows there
to be a seperation in the two features. This
main imagine is of the singer Keri Hilson a
R&B singer. This image of her is very edgy and
she wears a grey dress with a short black bob,
which works well with the colours against the
page and upholds the contents pages house
style. The second list helps people navigate
through the magazine with the page numbers.
The colours, white, black and blue which all go
very well together. The contents list consist of
subheading which categories the contents
found in the magazine. At the top there is
three pictures which link to what is in the
magazine, this makes the page look more
interesting as it gives us a sneak peak of what
the people are yet to see.
