How did you use media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and evaluation
stages?

2. Having access to Apple Macs I used a range
of software’s to create my film.

3. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
I used Photoshop to manipulate the image that I used to create my
poster. I changed the colour of the sky by using the burn tool to
make it a brighter blue and so that It stood out more. I also saturated
and clarified the image as a whole.

4. ADOBE IN-DESIGN
This software was the main software used for the construction of my
media products especially my ancillary texts. I used it to create my
magazine review and my poster. It was extremely useful and allowed
the outcome to look very professional.

6. I MOVIE
Once I had filmed some of my footage, I started to edit it using
IMovie. I used iMovie as I have used it previously and therefore it
made it easier for me as I was familiar with the functions so this
allowed me to edit my film to the best I could. If I ever got stuck I
watched tutorials to help me.

7. NIKON D3200
I didn’t just use online technologies and software’s whilst filming my
short film ‘The Village’ I used various technologies. I recorded using
a Nikon D3200. The filming wasn’t too hard as I also use this camera
for photography and therefore I am very good with using its
functions. I learnt some new tricks about filming with this camera.

8. RODE VIDEO MIC
I used an external sound recorder, this attached to the top of the
camera and simply plugged in to the side. It then took over the sound
and made it a higher quality than the camera Mic would produce.
Although I used this Mic I still had a few issues with my sound in the
editing suite, some that could be fixed and some that cant.

9. For the research and planning stages of my
media product I used several media
technologies to make my process easier and
more successful for the main product and
ancillary texts.

10. GOOGLE
During the early stages of making my short film, I used Google a lot,.
This was very key in my research and planning as it allowed us to
understand the audience I was trying to target and also do research
into similar types of films.

11. SHORT OF THE WEEK
Short of the week was my main tool for finding media texts similar to
mine. It allowed me to look up short films of all genres but especially
documentaries. Originally I used it to find all different types of genre
film and it helped me to chose the genre that I wanted my film to be.

12. SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media played a big role in creating my film. Especially for
audience feedback on my poster and magazine. I also used it to
communicate with my interviewees and to arrange times to meet up
with them and film them.

13. MUSIC – ITUNES
I used a soundtrack from ITunes, by an artist called Benedict Taylor
who gave me permission to use his work. I used the soundtrack at the
beginning and end of my film to help drive the story forward.

14. BLOGS- BLOGGER
Throughout my media coursework project I have been using blogs as
a source of information and I have also been keeping track of my
work on a blog. Everything I do I write a post.

15. For the evaluation stages of my media
product, I used several media technologies to
help make the process easier and more
successful for the ancillary texts and main
product.

16. YOUTUBE
Once I had finished the film I uploaded it to YouTube. This allowed
me to share it on my blog and post the link to social media. Allowing
me to collect audience feedback.
I also used YouTube to find short documentaries and theorists.

17. SLIDE SHARE
I used slide share a lot throughput the course of the project. I used it
a a main research method to find out more about documentaries. The
codes and conventions and the different types of documentary there
are.

18. PREZI
I used Prezi for evaluation question 4. I found it a channeling to use
however I think that it is a very interesting way to display work and
think it worked well for the question. I liked the way that you can
display the work in all different ways, such as shapes, sizes and colour.

19. POWER POINT
I have used power point for this evaluation question. I have used it
many times in the past, I find that its an easy and productive way to
display your work.
