2. For my research I used:
Powerpoint to present some of my research in a clear and
simple way, finding it very easy to use.
Slideshare to be able to embed my work on powerpoint
onto my blog.
Google to find out information on the Geri Halliwell case
study, the Miley Cyrus star theory and images for my
research into wider media.
Prezi as another platform of media to present my work in a
more interactive way.
Blogger to upload all of my work onto, presenting them in
order of what I have done.
YouTube to watch the Geri Halliwell video for the case
study, the Miley Cyrus star theory videos and all the other
videos for my case studies. Using YouTube was essential for
analysing existing music videos to gain a better idea of
what audiences expect to see and gave me a better idea of
what to produce.
Glogster to present my research into wider media as it is a
creative format of media, similar to a mood board. I found
glogster rather slow and it crashed a few times in the
process of producing my work however the end result was
successful and interesting to look at.
3. For my audience research I used:
Powerpoint to present my work in a clear format.
Google to research into the music video record labels, helping
me gain as much information as possible.
Youtube to look at other music videos within the same genre
to give me a better idea of who my target audience will be.
This was helpful as it narrowed down the age range and made
my work more defined.
SurveyMonkey to create a survey to gain audience feedback on
what kind of things they expect to see within my genre I am
using. It was easy to use and is very clear, taking me step by
step on how to create a successful questionnaire. It gave me
more of an idea on what elements to include within my music
video.
Excel to create the pie charts to present my audience feedback
data clearly and well-labelled.
Pixton, involving another form of technology to present my
data, making it more interesting and interactive to look at.
4. For my planning I used:
Powerpoint to present my work in a clear format.
Excel to create the gantt chart which helped me to
ensure that I was more organised and in control of my
work, knowing what order and when to do my work in.
Prezi as an interactive format to present my work.
Google to gain background information on my chosen
track, to get the lyrics for the song, get images and it
also enabled me to contact Ninja Tune record company
to ask for permission to use their song.
Glogster to present all my ideas for my music video
through the format of a mood board, creating the
general idea and atmosphere for it. Glogster crashed a
few times along the process of producing it but the end
result was successful.
A scanner to scan in my hand-drawn storyboard,
showing another personal form of creativeness.
DSLR Canon 1000D camera to take pictures of the
shooting location for the video and of the model.
Pixton to present some of my planning work in an
interesting format of media.
Adobe InDesign to produce drafts for my magazine
advert and digipak, providing me with multiple options
to choose from. I knew how to use this programme due
to me using it a lot for my AS media coursework
therefore I did not struggle.
5. For my production I used:
Adobe InDesign to create my magazine advert and digipak. I
think that this programme was very clear and simple to use as I
had used it before so I knew all the controls and features to
ensure that my work was as successful as it could be.
Google to get a barcode image for my digipak, making it look
more professional and realistic.
Adobe PremierPro to produce my music video on. I hadn’t used
this programme before but after a bit of guidance from my
teacher I quickly adapted to it and learnt all the
features, ranging from the various transitions between scenes
to renaming all of my video clips so they were easier to find.
Sony camcorder to film my music video on. I hadn’t used it
before but I made sure that I had read the instructions before
using it to ensure that I knew what to do without any trouble. I
found the setting to make the camera film in black and white to
save me changing it on the computer later on.
DSLR Canon 1000D camera to take the images for my digipak
and magazine advert.
Photoshop to enhance my images and ensure that they are the
best ability they possibly can be. I had used Photoshop
previously so I knew all the controls and features to use to
change the contrast and brightness of my images.
Youtube converter to get my music track.
6. For my evaluation I used:
Prezi as an interactive format to produce my work.
Powerpoint to present this evaluation question.
