How students used media tech in construction and research
1. 4. HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA
TECHNOLOGIES IN THE
CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH,
PLANNING AND EVALUATION
STAGES?
2. Youtube • I usedYouTube throughout my entire coursework from
the research and planning stage right through to the
final products I created.YouTube was a useful tool as it
allowed me to research music videos from the same
genre as mine. This allowed me to look into the
conventions of my genre and apply these to my own
work.Whilst editing my ancillary texts I usedYouTube
to help me work adobe premiere pro if there was
elements of it that I was unsure how to use.YouTube
has been really effective in helping me throughout the
course.
3. Blogger • Blogger was an extremely important element as I used
it throughout the whole of my A2 advanced portfolio to
help me record and keep track of my research and blog
my editing processes. By doing this I was able to refer
back to things I had researched and found that would
help me with creating my music video and ancillary
tasks.
4. Facebook • Facebook was helpful throughout my work as I was
able to effectively communicate with Laura and receive
audience feedback. Being able to communicate with
Laura was extremely important as we were able to
arrange to meet up for filming and editing and let each
other know how the editing for all tasks was coming
along.
5. Sony
camcorder
• Obviously an extremely important part of my advanced
portfolio was the camcorder on which I filmed my
footage for my music video. This was an extremely
handy piece of hardware. I also used a tripod to keep
the camera still and capture everything in the frame
that I needed to.
6. iPhone • My iPhone came in handy as I was able to use it to play
the track in the background when I was filming. This
way Megan was able to hear what she was lip syncing
to and this made it easier for me to edit the footage
together in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
7. Adobe
premier pro
CS6
• Adobe Premiere Pro was the software that I used to
edit together my clips to make my music video. I
improved from last year as this year I played about with
more effects and tried layering clips over each other on
the timeline to create a 'professional’ look to my video.
I most definitely used Premiere Pro in more depth and
was able to make my work better because of this.
8. Photoshop • I used PhotoShop to edit photographs of my model to
put onto my website. I also used PhotoShop to create
my digipak. I uploaded a template into PhotoShop and
used this as a guide as to where I should my various
panels. I edited the photographs that I had taken in
PhotoShop and placed these onto the digipak
template.
9. Wix • One of my ancillary tasks was to create a website. I
created this website onWix.Wix was extremely handy
as it gave me a template to work with and I just added
in photographs, texts, headers and logos where they
needed to be placed. Once the basics were in I played
about further and created a shop on my website where
my audience would be able to purchase merchandise. I
added in effects to make my website more visually
appealing.Wix was helpful throughout my advanced
portfolio.
