2. Home page
• The website includes links to social
media sites e.g.: Twitter, Facebook and
Instagram
• It shows mid-close ups of Avril,
Florence and Katy as the main feature,
centre of the screen to reflect their
significance as the artist
• On Florence’s homepage the first thing
that appears is her latest video. I think
this is really effective because it
instantly engages the viewer from the
second they visit the website
3. Album
• A main convention of the websites is
all artists advertise their most
recent/upcoming album (a pac-shot) as
the main feature on their website it is
an effective marketing technique as it
makes it familiar to audiences at a
glance.
• All websites include links to purchase it
which increases the levels of exchange
between audience and institution
4. News
• Katy Perry’s and Avril Lavigne’s websites both include
news about their upcoming/recent videos which
attracts the audience by engaging them even if they
haven’t had a recent single, for instance on Katy
Perry’s website there are re-released music videos and
live version of her hit singles.
• Both those websites include merchandise in the news
pages, for example ‘The Prismatic World Tour Live
comes to DVD’, which increases levels of exchange
between audience and institution
• Florence’s website includes videos of her on chat
shows which emphasizes her relationship with her fans
and are interactive as fans can watch online
5. Tour
• The websites includes photos and videos from
her tour which are all interactive and increase
levels of exchange between audience and the
artist
• Florence’s tour page contains photos not just
of her on stage but behind the scenes photos
she has taken recently whilst she has been on
tour, which makes the relationship with her
fans feel more connected to Florence
personally
• Although only Florence has upcoming tour
dates, the websites all include a specific page
for tour dates
