1. Home Page
Camera shots - All the artist’s
websites who I researched
included long shots of the artist
at the top of the homepage – I
thought this reflected the
importance of their image as a
pop artist
Direct mode of address – two out of
three of the artists I researched included
an image of the artist staring directly at
the camera – we followed this
convention as our artist is confident
Plain
background –
the artists I
researched
used a plain
colour for their
background
which I decided
to use as it
emphasizes the
importance of
the artist
2/3 of the artists I researched included all
pages on the same page as the home
page, instead of having separate links to
each individual page. This works for our
artist as she is more alternative
2. Tour Page
All artists included tour dates on their tour
page, so we followed the conventions as I
wanted to emphasize the relationship with
the audience– helping them feel closer to
the artist
The artists I researched included links
to social network sites so we followed
the conventions by including links to
Twitter and Facebook
We included names of
the songs she performed
live, to encourage the
audience to buy tickets to
see her live and to give
them more accessible
content on the website
which would help them
feel as if they were on a
more personal level with
the artist
I included an image of her playing live, as
since she is a pop artist, her image is just as
important as her music is
3. Photos Page
Pop convention - all
artists wore make
up/airbrushed so we
put make up on our
artist to reflect this
and to match the
backgrounds in each
shot
We decided to use ‘behind the scenes’
photos to represent her as fun and
relaxed which makes the audience feel
closer with the artist
We used adobe photoshop to airbrush
images of our artist as this had
occurred with all images of the artists
we researched, to give them a pure,
perfect look, typical of pop
conventions
I included photos from our photoshoot with
our artist to contrast with the goofy, fun
behind the scenes images to reflect how she
also wants to be taken seriously as an artist
making her debut
