media products
2. Layout
• Our website layout sells our artist through a large picture of Lola on
the front page so that the first thing that audiences see when they
open the website is a picture of her and also helps sell her star
image as being pretty and vivacious. This is generic as most artists
such as Tori Kelly and Avril Lavigne also have the front page of
pictures of themselves
• The tab at the top makes it easily accessible for fans to find what
they need. Such as tour dates, merchandise, about our artist we
have used conventions of a media product here as all artists on
there website have these features. This helps us sell our artist
across a wide range of products
• We have developed conventions of real media products as we have
made links of social media websites of our artist to further
emphasize her star image and sell her across a range of different
media to further her target audience
3. Font
• The font that we used for our website was
Fredericka the Great, this font was striking and
eye catching like how we wanted to portray
our artist, it also has a childish like format to
look like a child has drawn bubble writing
which links to Lola’s star image of having a
young and free attitude. This could also link to
Ke$ha as she also has a childish and youthful
attitude which helps widen her target
audience
4. Colors
• Our website is black and white. This is because
black links to her punk and organic side and the
white links to her being young and having a
youthful attitude much like her song. We added
some pink into our website to make it feminine to
further attract a female target audience of young
people. This is similar to PINKS website which is a
mixture of black and pink. The background of our
front page was taken at a graffiti wall the color’s
here are blurred and different to give her an
authentic edge linking to her punkie star image
5. Positioning of artist
• In all of the pages on our website our artists
photo is placed in the middle to further make
her the center of attention and catch the eyes
of her fans and make her face known to them
so that people will know who’s music they are
buying so here we have used conventions of
media products as most artists do this to
make themselves known
6. Merchandise
• Our merchandise for our artist is black and pink this is because we wanted
it to attract females as from looking at merchandise from artists similar to
ours such as Pink, Ke$ha, Tori Kelly their merchandise is also aimed at girls.
Pink is also a striking color and black emphasizes her punks side so here
we used conventions of media products as we are using our website to sell
these products
• Our merchandise has crowns on, her name in big letters, quotes such as
common youthful phrases such as Keep Calm and Carry On to further
emphasize her star image.
• We also created glow in the dark wristbands which can therefore be sold
to any ages and sell her tour so here we have developed conventions
• We created shoes this is different to other artists as it will attract a much
younger target audience who will wear personalized shoes.
• Merchandise is now used to sell an artist as music does not make as much
money anymore so artists use other media products such as merchandise
which is why making sure your artists merchandise links to the star image
is so important
