2. TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience of my music magazine is
generally teenagers to young adults, aged between
16-25 and both male and female. I had to ensure the
final product which I had created was suitable for
this demographic, and would address them. Other
magazines I have taken inspiration from are Kerrang
and NME magazine, which also target a similar
audience and therefore the research in the ways in
which they addressed their audience was beneficial.
3. MODELS
The models used throughout the magazine address
the younger audience as I have used a girl of similar
age as the audience for the main cover model,
making the information included in the magazine
regarding her relatable. As my magazine is targeted
at both males and females, I have included images of
live performances which I have taken the majority of
which include male artists; this ensures that I have
not limited the demographic to just females.
4. COLOUR SCHEME
The colour scheme of my magazine also
reflects that my magazine is aimed at both
men and women, as I have used the
conventional colours of red, black and white
rather than blue or pink, which can be aimed
at a specific gender.
5. PHOTOGRAPHY
The photography of the main cover star is of a
female and I did not want the main demographic
of the magazine to be aimed at just females,
therefore I made sure the mise en scene and
overall look of the artist was not overly feminine.
I achieved this by the costume of the model, her
outfit consists of dark colours, and she is wearing
minimal makeup.
6. MUSIC GENRE
The genre of music primarily featured within my
magazine is mainly the rock/alternative rock genre.
This is following the results of the questionnaire,
which results shown rock and alternative music
genres to be quite popular with the audience my
magazine is aimed at. On the front cover of my
magazine, and also in the contents page I have
artists related to these genres, such as Biffy Clyro
and Metallica.
