2. Gender neutral Because my magazine was gender neutral I had to make sure my magazine would appeal to both males and females. I did this by making the colour scheme black, white and burgundy because they attract both genders instead of a colour like pink which attracts more of a female audience and makes the magazine look “girly.” Despite having a female model on the front page, my magazine still appeals to males because the model isn’t dressed too girly and male and female models appear in the magazine. Because it’s a music magazine it features gig reviews and interviews suitable for both genders instead of a car magazine which mostly will attract males.
3. 16-24 year olds Because my magazine was for a target audience of 16-24 year olds it used young “funky” fonts and included the latest music artists and latest music. Featured in the magazine would be adverts for shops young people use such as “Topshop” and for TV programmes which interest young people such as “Skins.”
4. Jobs My magazine is probably read mostly by students who are interested in Indie/Rock music. They are probably creative such as artist, photographers and musicians. They’ll have an interest in creative writing and like to keep up to date with the latest music.
5. Similar to Q My magazine is mostly similar to Q magazine because it has a very similar target audience and genre of music. Despite this, my magazine is still very individual and although it has a similar genre to Q, the appearance of my magazine is extremely unique and different to Q magazine.
6. Unique selling point of mag The unique selling point of my magazine is bringing the newest most up to date music to the readers but also including older successful bands. The colour scheme and different effects make the magazine different and therefore unique to sell.
