1. Question 3
Audience Feedback
We asked 13 people for their thoughts on our 3 products that we produced as part of
our coursework. The following slides are the results that we gathered from the
questionnaire
3. Does the title Industrial Bites fit the topic of our
documentary?
We asked 13 people for their thoughts on the title of our
documentary. All of those asked believed that our title was fitting
for the theme of the documentary which shows that it anchors the
topic of how food sells within the industry and local businesses
4. Does the opening sequence illustrate the topic of our
documentary?
Those who were asked thought that the opening sequence of our documentary was
fitting for the topic of our documentary as it clearly showed what the documentary
was about. However, one person asked did believe that the sequence was too fast.
This shows that a way in which we could improve this piece of work is by slowing
the pace of the sequence to ensure that it is clear to all that see it
5. Does the script anchor the topic of the documentary?
12 of those who we asked thought that the script for the documentary did anchor the
topic of our documentary as it was very informative and clear making the
documentary easier to follow. However, one person said they were unsure as to
whether the script did anchor the topic. This shows that if we could improve the
documentary that we should ensure that the script is clear for everyone to
understand

Unsure
This is the results from Question 3 of
the survey given to 12 people. 8 of
those asked agreed that the voiceover
was clear and easy to understand with
3 people being unsure as to whether
the voice over was clear. 2 of those
asked thought that our voice over was
not easy to understand because they
felt that the speaker mumbled in
certain areas. The voiceover is a key
fixture in moulding the documentary
together, this shows that next time we
need to ensure that the voiceover is
clear and easy to understand at all
times and make sure that the person
that does the voiceover speaks clearly
throughout

We decided to have our chosen target
audience as 16-25 as our documentary
is relevant to this age group as food is
something that we all eat and as a
generation need to be taught about the
problem that the selling of these
products in the industry have on our
health. 12 of those asked agreed and
believed that this chosen target
audience was fitting for the
documentary as they recognised that
younger people are more health aware
now. However 1 person didn't agree
with the target audience that we had
agreed on but didn't give a reason as to
why they thought this

For this question, we wanted to find out the strongest points for our
documentary. The 13 people asked believed that the following were some of
our main strengths. We overall received many more strengths in comparison to
weakness which shows that our documentary was clear and engaging
9. Name three weaknesses to our documentary

We overall received more positive feedback in comparison to the negative
feedback which is listed below. Those that we asked believed that the
reasons below were what weakened our overall product and this gives us
something to improve on. This shows that next time we would need to make
sure that the voiceover was clearly spoken throughout and also get rid of any
jump cuts that we previously had in our final product. We would also need to
change the sound on the archive footage so that its not too loud and is clear
to the audience as well as improve on the editing of the documentary as this
will allow us to have a more professional finish to the final product

The results from this question show that our
documentary was interesting and provided
the audience with enough information as
most of those we asked said that they would
want to watch the rest of our documentary
with some people saying it was because
they wanted to find out more about how
food sells but also because the narrative
was interesting and relevant. Those who
said no to watching the rest of the
documentary provided us with no reason as
to why they would not continue with the rest
of the documentary but it may be because
the topic of our documentary was something
that would not interest them

8 The results for Mise-en-scene came back particularly
well as we got mostly 5s and 4s which shows that our
documentary followed the correct forms of mise-en-
scene which is something that I found was very
important when initially researching documentaries such
as Blackfish and Life on Death Row. We made sure
when filming our interviews that the backdrop matched
the career of the interviewee which is has clearly been
picked up on by the audience members. One person
did give us a 3 for this section, which overall doesn't
reflect badly on our product as the majority vote gave us
a 5

The results show what people
thought of the editing of our
documentary. We received mainly
3s for this section which indicates
that there could be improvement
with our editing. As previously
mentioned, we had the occasional
jump cut which would be fixed
through our editing if we had the
chance again to fix any problems
that we had. We still received
positive feedback for this section
however as four people gave us a
4 and one person gave us a 5

For camerawork, we mainly got 4s
with three people giving us a 5
and three people marking the
camerawork a 3. This shows that
our camerawork was up to a high
standard which is good as we
made sure that our camera angles
were fitting for the interview as
well as using a tripod to avoid
shakiness of the shot . However,
we did also receive some 3s
which shows that we could
improve this by making our
camera shots more professional
which can be seen in
documentaries like Supersize Me

This section provided us with
the lowest set of marks
showing that Professionalism
is an area that could definitely
be improved. Four people
gave us an 8, which shows
that the majority vote believed
that our documentary looked
professional enough to be
aired on BBC One. However,
we did receive a 2 off one
person, although they did not
provide a reason as to why
they thought that it didn't have
a professional look to the
product.
16. Would our Radio Trailer make you want to watch our
documentary?
11 out of 13 people asked said that after watching our Radio Trailer, they would like to watch our
documentary. This shows that our Radio Trailer was effective as it has interested people, making them
want to find out more about the documentary
2 out of 13 people asked said that our documentary would not make them want to watch our
documentary. This could be due to the people not being interested in the topic of our documentary or it
could be because they didn't feel like the trailer was intriguing enough

We overall received more positive feedback for our Radio Trailer which shows that it
was effective in grabbing the attention of the audience which is the key reason as to
why a Radio Trailer is used so that the audience listen to what is being said and
remember the information that they are being given. 5 of the people asked also
believed that there were no negatives to our project which indicates that the Radio
Trailer is effective and clear
18. What do you think the weaknesses are of the Radio Trailer?
Sound Levels Music Voiceover InterviewsUnclear
As you can see, we overall received less negative feedback in comparison to the
comments that were made about our Radio Trailer. The weaknesses include aspects
like the music and sound levels which we would change next time so that the sound
could be heard perfectly throughout and the background music was a song that the
audience deem more appropriate for the trailer as it needs to follow what the consensus
of people enjoy so that the trailer brings in more attention surrounding our documentary
19. Is the voiceover for the Radio Trailer clear and
informal? Why?
11 out of 13 people said that the voiceover in our Radio Trailer was clear and formal with some
adding that they thought that it was overall a good voice over that was clear and easy to follow
along. This shows that we had really positive feedback towards the voiceover in the trailer.
However, 2 out of 13 people said no to this section of the documentary as they believed that
the sound levels were too low which made some areas hard to understand as it was unclear. If
we could improve this section the we would have to make sure that the sound levels are
consistent throughout so that its easier for the audience to follow along with what is being said
21. Would the Print Advert make you want to watch our
documentary?
This indicates that our Print Advert is effective enough in making the audience want to
watch the rest of the documentary as the image was eye-catching and depicted the
topic of our storyline as 11 out of 13 people said that after looking at the poster, it has
made them want to watch the documentary. However, 2 people did say that it doesn’t
make them want to watch it which suggests that they may of not liked the image that
was used or the title on the poster. As they did not state the reason as to why they
picked no, it is hard to make a thorough improvement to the aadvert

22. Do you think the image works well?
Once again we overall received more positive feedback about the
image on the Print Advert which shows that the image was eye-
catching as well as linking in with our topic of our documentary.
Although one person did think that the image didn’t work well and two
people were unsure as to whether it linked to the topic of our
documentary.
23. Does it connote the topic of our documentary?
12 out of 13 people agreed and thought that our print Advert did connote
the topic of our documentary. However, one person did think that the
advert didn't fit the topic of the selling of food in the industry
24. Overall, do you think our three products work well
together? Why?

Overall, we received positive feedback to
this final section of the questionnaire. This
shows that our three products work well
together and for the audience they all show
the topic of our documentary. If they didn't
work well together then the overall effect on
the audience wouldn't be the same as it
would be harder to understand for them.
Some positive feedback that we received
includes how easy it was to follow the theme
of the documentary and how it links
together. People also said that it was well
produced and clear and someone even said
that the Radio Trailer was their favourite
product. However, one person did think that
the three products didn't work well together
as they thought that it was unclear
