2. On my front cover I have added different features
that will allow me to attract the audience
attention. Firstly, I have included a big and bold
masthead that is eye catching and allows the
reader to know the name of the magazine
immediately. I have also a simple yet bold colour
scheme that corresponds throughout my
magazine, capturing the readers attention further.
The main headline of my front cover is also bold
and completely white which is different to the rest
of the text that is present on the page. The
headline takes up the width of the page so that
the reader is instantly drawn into the magazine. I
have then used a buzzword which is a feature that
is used on professional music magazines to draw
the reader in. The buzzword ‘WIN’ brings the
readers eye to the corner of the page as they want
to find out more information on what they can
win. This is helpful as they need to read the
magazine in order for them to be able to find out
more information
3. On my contents page, I think that
the overall look of my magazine
will attract the audience as it is
set out neatly and isn’t messy. The
columns present the pages in an
orderly line and the page numbers
placed next to the article names
match the colour scheme. The
pictures used also catch the
audience attention as the reader
gets a glimpse into what the
articles will feature and also
during the audience research I
found that a lot of people enjoy
visuals over a lot of writing.
4. My double page spread addresses the audiences
attention by the colour scheme used that has
been presented throughout my media product.
The double page spread also has a bold, eye
catching main image that presents the indie/rock
genre. The title of the page is bold and the
colours and font also reiterates the indie/rock
genre further. My interview also addresses the
reader as the questions that I asked the band
are interesting and allow the reader to learn
more about the band and also find out
information about upcoming events that they
will be at. The short introduction also allows the
reader to be addressed as they are given some
brief information about the band and allows
them to be addressed directly.
