This is a modern 8 bit puzzle game
the colour schemes are saturated
colours this links to the theme park
theme of the game this reveals the
target audience for this could be
children, which is my secondary
audience targeted under 18s.
This game layout also involves a timer
and different levels which will be
similar to my final product. In this
game I also like the idea of the
background, this is because it moves
whilst your playing this is something I
would like to try out when making my
final product because it will engage
my audience.
The sound track for this game is upbeat this gives a exciting mood and tone to the game this is
what I am looking to create but with a calm mood also this sound relates to the games theme
Asif you are at the theme park. The sound effects are also used when the blocks drop and
when a row is cleared. Overall this makes the audience want to play it because of the
animation style as this comes across as quite simple which can engage children and the colour
schemes are very bright and colourful.

This is another modern 8 bit
puzzle game this is very similar
to my final product because
this involves different jewels,
which are mixed saturated
colours ,the background
lighting is dark which gives a
better effect on the jewels.
These are also laid out in grids
this is exactly how I want to
present my final product. The
sound track on this game gives
a happy mood and vibe and is
very energetic there is also
sound effects when the jewels
are dropped and show special
effects on the game, there is
also a lot of animation style as
everting seems to be moving
as well as the spider this
reveal this seems like an
active, exciting game.
I am looking to create this style in
the 8 bit version, including this
type of style and layout.
This would

This game is a retro, older game
this reveals it appeals to a much
older audience which Is also my
primary audience,18-34 the
sound track gives off a calming
vibe, therefore older adults
prefer classic music whereas
younger audiences would
prefer more faster and
optimistic. The fonts on the
game match the colours of each
of the jewels, these colours are
saturated and the theme of this
game is ‘city’ as it features the
statue of liberty all with a
matching colour scheme of
purple, this colour denotes a
relaxed and independent vibe
this appeals to my target
audience.
This makes my audience want to play it because it looks
appealing and the bright saturated colours really make it
pop, this is good because this is an older game. Within this
game when the jewels are dropping you are able to switch
them around however you like, I like this idea because It
gives he audience more control to the game. Therefore this
is something I would like to try an add in my final product.

• What common features do the researched products have?
– All my three existing products are all pixelated, they include all
bright saturated colour schemes and similar colours for
example purples,pinks.Also all the games I chose are puzzle
themed and are all the same type of game, these all also
feature background themes e.g. theme park this is to make the
game seem more enjoyable and amusing. Lastly the sound
tracks all involve joyful music which links with my audience.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your
on work?
– In my own work I will be including the pixelated idea from each
of the existing products. I will also involve the colour schemes
of each of these games because I think they grab the audience.
Lastly, the layout of grids are an aspect which I will include
because I like the idea of them and they look appealing,
therefore it will attract my audience.
