At the top corner it has a coin and the
number of how many coins you have
collected. It also has the white and black
outline which again stands out and can
easily be seen by the audience. This appeals
to the audience because they then know
how many coins they have got and this
helps them want to play more because the
more coins they get the better so this will
persuade the audience keep wanting to play
the game.
At the top right corner it has the time
that it took the player to complete
the course and It has a clock next to
the time. The color of this is white
with a black out line because this
stands out to the audience and it
works well with every color scheme.
this appeals to the audience because
they will see there time and want to
replay the level again so they can get
a quicker time or so they can get a
better time on the next level.The text here is fairly big and goes
across the screen so it can easily be
seen by the audience. The colors of
the text that have been used here is
gold that could link into the Olympic
of Gold, Silver and Bronze and they
could have chosen to use this gold
color to let the audience know
they’ve become first place. The text
also has a black outline because
then it helps it stand out easily
The location of this game is
some made up world where
Mario and Luigi have to save
the princess. The location is
Mario and Luigi’s own world
The color scheme for this game is blue, green and
red. These colors will attract the audience because
there audience are young so therefore these
bright colors stand out and catches there
attention as young people like bright colors. The
colors go well with each other especially red and
green as these are complementary colors . A
connotation of the color green could be that it’s a
natural color and used for nature and the
environment and in this case it has as its been
used for the grass and for the trees. Some
connotations of the color blue is calming and this
color goes with green very well.
I would say that the angle of this
shot is a straight forward medium
shot because you can see everything
in the frame and its directly straight
in front. This is a good angle because
you’re able to see everything clearly
that is in the frame
The mise en scene for this shot is
to the left there is a brown castle,
in the background in the distance
there are trees and to the left of
the shot there is a some flowers
more trees and a flag that has a
white pole with a red flag and
behind where Mario and Luigi are
there is a light brown fence
The characters in this game are Mario and Luigi. Mario
is the main character and he is the one dressed in red
and Luigi is dressed in green. Some connotations for
Mario being dressed in red would be passion,
excitement and energy these re the connotations for
him because of his passion to save the princess and all
the energy he has to be able to do so. Luigi
connotations being dressed in green could be vitality
of being strong and active for him to help Mario se he
can help save the princess
The audio in this game is good
because it has fun , happy / upbeat
background music and sound
effects when the character jumps
and collects coins and in my opinion
it works effectively especially as
their target audience is quite young

The angle of this game crossy road
is birds eye view and this is
effective because it helps the
audience see everything that is in
the frame when they are trying
cross the road.
The color scheme for this game is red
and green and white. These colors
work well and it will attract the target
audience as I would say their target
audience are young kids an the bright
colors of the game appeal to the
audience because if its colorful then
kids will be engaged with it. The colors
that have been used here are green
which has the connotations of nature
and red that has the connotations of
danger which could suggest not to hit
the cars as it’d dangerousThe mise en scene is the red and green cars.
Rocks . Trees, the roads, coins and the grass
and this shows everything that is in the
game. The location of the game crossy road
is on a road with cars going past near some
grass with trees on.
The game has the high score
in the top left corner which
will go up by 1 point every
time you go and cross the
road. The score is in a bold
white font with a black
outline so that it stands out
to the audience and they
know there score and keep
trying to beat it.
Here in the top right corner it
tells you how many coins you
have collected. The more coins
you gives the consumer the
chance to buy more characters
which will make it more fun and
make the consumer to keep on
playing the game as they might
want to collect more coins so
they can buy a character
The sound effects on this game are
pretty simple as here isn't any
background music just you can hear
the traffic of the cars, water when you
have to jump over the river and trains.
There is also a simple sound effect
when the character is jumping
In the game crossy road you have to make
your way across the road without getting
hit by the obstacles. Further along in the
game there are more obstacles to avoid
and jump over such as there is a river
where you have to wait for the wood and
leafs and also there are trains rushing past.
Also further along the game there is more
traffic that speeds up which makes the
game harder. This is a good game for their
audience because it is addictive and makes
you want to keep playing
This is a 3d game and is very detailed as you can
clearly see the cars are 3d as well as everything
else. This will make the audience want to play
the game because it look appealing to them
I think this games appeals to the audience in many ways. One being that
the game is fun to play and addictive because you want to keep beating
your high score. Anther way in which it appeals to it’s audience is the colors
they have used because it’s bright and catches the audiences attention.
Collecting coins and buying new characters also help because it means the
consumer has to keep playing the game to buy the character they want. I
think an improvement they could make to make it appeal more would be
to include some background music
4. Existing ProductSubway surfers is an endless runner
game where you have to run away from
the dog and the inspector and you have
to duck under barriers and jump over
then. There will be trains going past tat
you have to swipe across and move out
the way so you don’t get hit. You can
even run on top of the train and jump
on to other trains so that you don’t get
caught
In the top left corner we have a pause
button and top right corner we have
the score and the coins that have been
collected. The more coins that are
collected gives the consumer the
opportunity to buy different characters,
different boards and special power ups
for the game such as hover-boards
Underneath the score and the amount of
coins there are your friends score as you
can connect the game to social media
and you can see if you have beat your
friends high score. This is effective
because it makes the consumer want to
keep playing so that they can bat there
friends high score and it becomes a
competition
The mise en scene is the train tracks,
the character , and the coin. The
location for this game is at a train track.
The main color scheme for this game would be
green red and brown and blue. The different
colors attract the audience and the colors red
connotation is danger, blue and green suggest
nature as the game is outside.
Throughout the game there are different sound effect
such as when you collect coins, and jump up and
duck. There are sound effects of the train going past
and as well. As the game is set outside you can hear
the wind and stuff and just in general hear the
outside nature. I think it would be better if they
included some background music for the game to
make it more interesting
The game is 3d and is very detailed from the train tracks
to the buildings I like this because it looks aesthetically
appealing to the audience and this will make them want
to play it because the game looks good in general and
doesn't’t look boring .
The high angle third person perspective shot. This
has been used so that you can see everything in the
shot as the character will be jumping on trains and
buildings etc.

Jetpack Joyride is aside scrolling endless runner game using
the simple one touch system to control the character this
means that it is easy to control, the game isn’t too
complicated which is perfect for their young audience as
they don’t want a game that Is too difficult as to control
because then people won’t want to play the game
The main character is a cartoon
and this works well for their target
audience as kids tend to watch
cartoon shows and the main
character being a cartoon links
into this and links in to other
interests that the kids may have.
In the top right corner we have the
distance that the guy has traveled in
a white bold font with a black
outline so this helps it stand out.
Underneath this we have the coins
that have been collected and this
helps the consumer want to keep
playing because the more coins they
get can help them to get another
chance in the same run so they can
beat their high score
Throughout the game you get different
temporary power ups which help you get
further and help you get a better score
such as the on “Chariot Of Harmony”
and the “Colossatron” which help you
with the game
The main color scheme for this game
is grey/navy , yellow and red. The
yellow and red could suggest danger
and the navy is quite a mysterious
color. I think this game is mainly
aimed at males due to the color
scheme and the main character Barry
is a male so more males are likely to
play this game.
The sound effects used in this game are a
lasers, coin sound effects there is also a
upbeat , happy / funky sound track which
works well with the game and will attract
their target audience
Throughout the game there are challenges / missions that you
need to complete such as “reach 1500m without using a vehicle”
“travel 800m total with a stomper” or “collect 375 coins in one
game” these are just a few examples of the missions / challenges
that you need to complete however there are many more. Once
you complete these you get rewards such as coins and spins etc.
having these challenges are for the consumer because this will
make the consumer want to come back and keep playing the game
without getting bored and they can see their game progression
once they’re able to complete a mission
The mise en scene for this game is the little scientists on the
ground at the bottom, the red siren lights, Barry the main
character and his jetpack / machine gun and the bullet. The game
is set in a science lab and the camera angle for this is a a straight
forward medium shot because you can see everything in the
frame and its directly straight in front. This is a good angle
because you’re able to see the character and everything coming
up that is in the shot

have?
There are many common features within the products that I have research. One of that they
all have the amount of coins and the distance travelled and these tend to be in a bold white
font with a black outline. Another common feature that I have noticed is that they majority
of them tend to use a straight forward medium shot and they tend to use bright colours
within the games.
• What aspects of the research will you include
within your on work?
Within my work I will include to use a medium straight forward shot because this will allow
the consumer to be able to see clearly the game and I will also use bright colours as my
target audience is young and I know that bright colours will attract my target audience that I
want.
