2. Existing Product
This type of game is what I'm aiming for in my final product and final design. This is because of the 2d design of the whole game. This type
of game works really well because it creates the image of a basic idea that seems very simple but work very effectively. The main angle of
the game is on a 2d dimension and works well for this type of game. This is because a lot of good and famous games are in a 2d design and
can be pixel. The almost complete black and white colour scheme used works very well for this design because it makes the characters stand
out and work very well for the contrast. The font of this design seems very standard with just the text tool from Photoshop or what ever
program has been used to create this. The main music is more up beat and adventurous and thrilling. This works well because of the fight
scenes in the game and how it works. The sound effects also put the music and game play together well because they merge and create a
kind of organic sound.
This type of work appeals to a certain audience because the older generation wont play this at first thought but the younger generations
will. Around the age of teenagers to young adults. This is because of the type of game and the way it is placed. This type of game is mainly
hand held devices. This will effect the age range because a large proportion of people old don’t use this type of technology for games. This is
because they can seem complicated whereas other games such as candy crush can be addictive for all ages. This type of game is aimed
towards the teenage range because of how many people around that age have a mobile device or tablet

This type of image looks to be based of a iconic game know as Mario. This type of game works well in the industry because the
type of game is recognizable from around the work and largely in Asia. This angle of the game has the basic but effective 2d effect
and looks simple and addictive. The main lighting of the image looks bright and colourful and is mainly based of the green and
brown schemes for colour combinations. The font of this game looks to be more pixel and more into the pixel type of
development, this is because of the text and because of the way of design.
The sound of game is mostly around the type of music of pixel creation this is because it seems more old school and retro. This
gives it the good sound and recognition or a lot of popular pixel game. The music of this game is upbeat and more computer
generated and pixelated. This type of music works very well of this type of game. The sound effects of this game has a large
variety. This is because of the actions you can do in the game such as jump and attack. These are only a few of the sounds that
will be created by your character. The main audience of the product will be the younger generation around teenager and young
adult but may also include some of the older generations because of the way of product, as said the way of production is largely
based of Mario and the design and type of game is widely recognized as this.

This type of mechanical design that has been produced for this game has worked effectively because it reminds me of a game called doom this
works well because this game works I a similar type of way. This is good because it will attract the younger and older generation of gamer. The
main angle is looks like is 2d with a lot of detailed workings. The effect of this design will attract a large variety of a audience type. The lighting
of this game place seems to be dark but with a bright character. This works well because the image of the main character stands out because
of the bright colours and the darker back ground.
The music of the game works well with the game play because it seems to be a mix or adventurous music but it also has a mechanical effect
that brings the music and game to live for the gameplay. This works well for the player because it keeps there interest in the game because of
how it sounds and want to play more as well as the addictive appeal behind it. The sound effect of the game play are very mechanical and
robotic. This is because of the main character and how the game is seen and works very well with the music because it merges together to
make a clean sound.
The main audience appeal of the game play is that it looks like a old game called doom. This type of similarity will work well for audience
appeal because it will bring older adults whereas the younger generation. This is because the audience will be appealed to the type of game
and since it like other games people will want to play it.

This game is based on the 2d workings of classic games. This type of game has been produced many times but this
seems slightly different. This is because it seems to be a shooter game. The format of the game seems to resemble a lot
to a game called player unknown battlegrounds or fortnite. The angle of the game is more bird eyed viewed. This type of
game isn't produced a lot and can seem unique.
The lighting of the game seems to be bright but contains a lot of green colouring with a close colour scheme. This is
because it seems all of the colours that I can see are green but with darker hints around the map. The sounds of the
game seems to be similar to some popular games where it is upbeat and adrenaline filled. This type of music keeps you
engaged into playing.
This type of music also draws in a certain type of audience that will be purchasing the game. This is because of the music
and how the game is played seems to be popular right now in the gaming industry. This music also brings in a certain
audience because of the upbeat sounds that will attract younger generations rather than old people. This is also because
of the sound effects used. They are gun fire and walking sounds that contribute to the overall music produced for this
game.
6. Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
A large common feature I have noticed will be the type of music used. This is because of the
upbeat sound that keeps people and the audience very much engaged into what you are
producing for the game. This music seems to play a part in the gamers experience of the game
and whether or not they will enjoy it. This feature also includes the sounds of certain sound
effects. Another of the common features of the existing products will be the way the game has
been produced, all of the games have been produced with a 2d background and over all game
design.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
In my game I am wanting to include the design of the 2d workings. This is because of the software
I have available, I can only use Photoshop and created more than a 2d based game will be
extremely hard. This is because of the tools available in the software. I will also include the
upbeat sound track that will bring the audience in and make the audience more engaged.
