approach/initiatives
“ ADOPT TAKAKURA COMPOSTING
METHOD”
33. Our vision is to turn Mandaue City into a clean city “living in an
environment that is friendly to man.”
Waste is an issue that affects us all. We all produce waste, people
living in Mandaue City throws away household rubbish every year. All this
waste has a huge impact on the environment, causing pollution and
greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. With this
alarming issues the Mandaue City Government through the Office of the
Solid Waste Management come up an initiative to decrease the problem of
wastes that are difficult to deal with safely.
34. One of the initiatives that our office come up is working to
minimize the negative impacts of waste in the city while
maximizing the benefits of good waste management, and the role
of individuals, households have to play. This include, to wit:
conduct survey @ household level on TAKAKURA
COMPOSTING wherein stickers with number will be put to their
house if household practiced the said composting.
give freebies like 3 kls. of rice to be raffled for household who
take part in the implementation of this initiative.
