This document discusses the design of a photovoltaic system using a SEPIC converter to provide a constant output voltage. Solar panels provide a variable output voltage due to changes in temperature and sunlight intensity. A SEPIC converter is proposed to maintain a constant output voltage regardless of the variable solar panel input voltage. The SEPIC converter design and simulation results are presented. Experimental results from a 20W prototype validate that the SEPIC converter can provide efficient power transfer from the solar panel to the load while regulating the output voltage.
