This document compares tunnel formwork systems and aluminum formwork systems for use in high-rise building construction. Tunnel formwork allows walls and slabs to be cast in one operation on a daily cycle, reducing construction time significantly compared to conventional methods. It provides strength, quality, accuracy and cost savings. Aluminum formwork can be reused over 300 times with low average costs. The study analyzes two case studies, one using tunnel formwork for a 42m residential building and one using aluminum formwork for a 106m residential building. Formwork selection is key to minimizing construction costs and maximizing speed, quality and safety for high-rise building projects.
