The study assessed the hydrochemistry of groundwater in 18 locations around Kariapatti, Tamil Nadu, India. Water samples were collected and analyzed for various physicochemical parameters, which were then compared to Bureau of Indian Standards limits. The results showed that most sampling locations had high physicochemical characteristics compared to standards. The water quality index indicated that most locations fell into the poor or very poor categories for suitability as drinking water. Specifically, water from Pappanam coloney, Kizhavaneri, and Thoppur was found to be unfit for drinking due to failing to meet standards.
