• Disadvantages: Research can be biased

• Definition: Research done by another person
• Advantages: Researching is done already.
• Disadvantages: Difficult to find one related to
specific type of product sometimes
• Example: Finding research on the internet.
5. Quantitative Research
• Definition: Research measured in
numbers, percentages or fractions.
• Advantages: Shows clearly what people prefers.
• Disadvantages: Doesn’t show the reasons
• Example: A pie chart showing percentages.
6. Qualitative Research
• Definition: Indepth research about reasons people
like or dislike things
• Advantages: Helps improve product massively
• Disadvantages Time consuming
• Example Asking a question on a forum

• Definition: finding audience of consumers
• Advantages: Can create product to fit a specific group
of people
• Disadvantages: Limits who will buys
• Example: Survey on similar product

• Definition: Research where product is sold and who it is sold to.
• Advantages: Helps adjust product to different cultures, helps
discover demand of product. Targeted marketing makes it easier to
get results.
• Disadvantages: Possibly expensive, Research has to be redone for
different markets.

• Definition Researching information and resources to create product
• Advantages Creator has knowledge of how resources will have to be
utilised.
• Disadvantages Availability of resources may change so research may
have to redone sometimes.
