The document discusses improvements made to a digipak and magazine advertisement based on audience feedback. Key changes included:
1. Adding the song listings to the back cover of the digipak for visibility.
2. Redesigning the inside left of the digipak to have a simpler, consistent style.
3. Making the eyes on the front cover symmetrical and aligned by resizing one eye.
4. Choosing a new picture for the magazine ad that better represented the rock genre and removing the background. Social media links were also added.

Audience Feedback Drives Digipak and Magazine Advert Improvements
1. Audience Feedback-
Digipak and Magaizne Advert
Improvements
From my audience feedback I was advised to
make adjustments to my media products in
order to create a more successful final piece.
The following slides show the necessary
improvements I have made to my work.
2. Song listings
In my draft Digipak the song listing for my album
were only accessible and featured in the inside of
my digipak. However due to audience feedback
they disliked this design as they wanted to be able
to see the track listings on the outside of the
magazine in order to see what the album consists
of. Acting on my audience feedback I placed the
song listings on the back cover of my digipak. I
began trying different positions and styles of song
listings that I had seen through my research of
digipaks ,before deciding on positioning the song
lyrics above the eye centralised to the length of
my models eyebrow.
3. Inside left of Digipak
Through my audience feedback I found that my audience did not think that the inside left
of my digiapk worked well with the rest of my digipak. My audience found that the
picture I used in my draft digipak looked out of place and was was not as well as executed
and defined as the rest of my digipak. To act on my audience feedback I designed a simple
bit effective background from where my CD would clip in to. I decided on a simplistic style
through looking at other existing digipaks. The background consists of the bands name
and album name in the same style it has been throughout my digipak and the red, greyish
colour tint used on my front and back cover of my digipak in order to maintain a recurring
visual style.
4. Front and back cover of Digipak
From the audience
feedback I noticed that the
eyes on my digipak were
not symmetrical and in
line with each other. In in
order to fix this problem
and make the digipak have
more structure to it I
ensured a fixed this
problem. I made the
necessary improvements
suggested by my audience
by making the left eye
bigger and putting it inline
with the right eye and
then cropping both images
to size using Photoshop.
This process resulted in
the eyes becoming
symmetrical and in line
with one another.
5. Magazine Advert
From the audience feedback I received regarding my magazine advert I found that there was some serious faults with my design. Firstly my
picture choice did hardly included any of the rock genre characteristics conventions due to the background of the fence in the picture. In
order to put this right I chose a different picture and removed the background and then manipulated the colour on Photoshop to change the
picture to black and white. Black and white is a key convention and characteristic of rock due to the dark and depressing themes the genre
explores. Secondly, the next change I had to make was to change the style and structure of my magazine advert. The feedback I received led
me to conclude that the band name and band album picture did not work well together. So for my final piece I decided to disgard the picture
of the album cover and place the band name and album name above the picture of Edan Pickering in a central location to make the branding
clear and dominant on my magazine album. Thirdly the feedback revealed that my font choices on my draft magazine did not work well
together. In order to ensure this did not happen again I only used two fonts on my final magazine advert to ensure a visual style and form was
maintained throughout. Finally the last piece of feedback I received was to add social networking links so my audience members can be kept
up to date with the latest news from Dystopia and so they can get involved with the band. I achieved this my adding a Twitter and Instagram
link on my final piece.
