RESEARCH
According to my survey, the
graph shows
that more females participated in
the survey
compared to males.
From extensive research
women go to the cinema in
larger groups whereas males
tend
to go with their partner. This
could be
because men like to feel
masculine
And be a ‘protector’ to their
partner.
Men also tend to go to the
cinema
and prefer watching action
films
where they can relate with
the
characters and feel ‘manly’
whereas
females tend to go watch
horror/thriller
films with their friends.
From the graph it is suggestive that more younger
people
tend to go to the cinema and watch thriller films
compared
to any other age group. This could be because more
younger people
enjoy thriller films whereas older year groups may
enjoy other types
of genres such as romance
There could be a larger majority of younger people
going
to watch thriller films because they have more
free time
compared to older ages that could be working.
They also
have no tax, rent etc. to pay meaning they have
more income
to spend on leisure i.e. the cinema.
Therefore for my film I would have to target younger ages
as it appeals to their age group the most.
From the graph it is clear the there are three
popular sub-
genres of thriller which are: action,
psychological and supernatural.
This means that I may have to choose one of
them as it is the most
appealing to the participants if my survey. Or
I could even integrate more
Than one type of sub-genre into my film.
According to my survey
the most popular
feature
in thriller films is the
theme of suspense
which should be
included in my film.
According to my survey the audience
enjoy typical features of thriller films
so
they can be the same for my film.
The responses given outside the given to
other
can be included into my film and be given
a unique twist to my
film to make it original and more
intriguing to watch.
The most popular location according to the
survey the most popular locations is in
the city, unknown locations, an abandoned
town and schools.
So for my media film I can then implicate
the popular locations as they are the most
appealing locations to make my film
interesting and appealing to the audience.
