The document summarizes the activities from a student exchange program in Xanthi, Greece. The exchange involved students from multiple countries getting to know each other through cultural activities like traditional dancing, volunteering in the community, and nature activities. Students also learned about technology tools that can be used in the classroom and visited local authorities. By experiencing Greek culture together, the students gained friendships and a sense of cultural unity rather than differences.

Summary of 3rd Students’
Exchange Xanthi, Greece
10-14 May 2015
After a nice bus passage, we reached Xanti which is a small but lovely stop of Greece mobility. After a sin-
cere welcome we met the students and their hospitable families who were going to host our students. Eve-
ryone’s first impression was very nice.
Sakis was with us and that was enough. The meeting at school on the first day and the activities which
made us get closer quickened the process of getting to know each other. We had the opportunity of having
the pleasure of meeting with the teachers and the school administrators. At the same time, we learned
about the school. The conversation we had with the students and their nice behaviour were very pleasing.
Thanks to the workshop in which Edmodo was described with its details we saw that we could improve the
technological opportunities we use in class more.
After we spent a little more time in Xanti, we had a nice evening in which Greek cultural dances were
taught and we really enjoyed them. Thanks to this, everyone had the opportunity to get closer again.
We didn’t see cultural differences turn into cultural unity, we actually lived it.
The second day, a video making programme which can be used actively in lessons was taught to us in a
course atmosphere. We completed a part of our workings on Tuesday by making our own short videos.
In the formal visit we made in the same day, the acceptance committee said that they were pleased to
welcome us in Xanti and they supported the Project.
I can say that with the positive energy spent in the modern cultural group activity which shows that dance
has a philosophy, we had more pleasure than we expected.

The dinner at which we experienced the local food and listened to Greek music made me
feel like I was in my own country. Everybody who enjoyed included a part of their soul to our
projects‘ goal with uniting under the same roof. On the third day, everyone became a volun-
teer .While I was watching the videos about the Volunteers Day prepared and brought to be
introduced in Xanti, seeing the students at this age was really promising to believe that good
people that care about nature still exists.
The sport activities done in nature, near the Xlestos River were one of the most entertain-
ing times that students had. In this activity that they showed their physical and mental skills
friendly more than competitively, moving was the most beautiful language.
The Thassas Island trip on Thursday that helped us learn about the old civilizations , muse-
ums and history, made the time we spent together even more meaningful. To feel the harmo-
ny between yesterday and today, green and blue with all these hearts coming from all around
the world took all our exhaustion away.
In the morning of the last day, after the seminar about the bird types, we observed the birds
from the lake on their immigration route. After that we visited a little church near that lake.
We prepared some of the food together in the traditional barbecue at school.
After the meeting that we did a general evaluation about our project, we watched the stu-
dents make graffiti. They immortalized their names and countries on the school’s walls.
The attendance and attention to the flash mob activity which was done in the city centre was
really high.
After the certificate ceremony and regional festival display which was held after the dinner
ended, we knew that we gained so many great memories and friendships even if we were a
little heart-broken to say goodbye firstly to Greece coordinator teacher Sakis, the school
headmaster Sophia, then to all the other teachers and students.
I will never forget the people’s closeness to us, the families who treated our students like
their own child and coming to say goodbye the day that we were leaving.
I’m very proud to be a part of this Project both as an individual and as a country. I’m also very
proud to see how close our Project gets to its aim with the help of participant countries and
every mobility.
I’m very glad that this Project exists and I’m glad to be a teacher. I thank everyone who
worked on this Project.
