The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

On the morning of April 19th
everybody was very eager to embark on a wholly new experience, as part of our
Erasmus plus project. Students and teachers from 7 countries were going to meet in Kitzbuhel, a famous ski re-
sort in Tyrol. Once there, we were kindly welcomed by teachers, students and hosting families.
After a good night’s sleep, we met at school the next day, where we were officially received by the principal
and got to know the members of all the other teams. We were offered a nice tour of the school, which is itself
an example of good practice, as it has everything one wishes in order to create a proper learning environment.
In the afternoon we had a wonderful tour of the little town of Kitzbuhel, a real jewel of the Alps. Afterwards,
we had the opportunity to meet the major, who presented briefly the town and its history.
The next day was expected by everyone, as it meant visiting Salzburg, a place of great cultural and historical
interest. After visiting the Dome of Salzburg and the old town, the trip ended at Waserspiele, were everyone
had a lot of fun, taking quick “showers” unexpectedly.
On Wednesday it was time for school again. Students and teachers had separate activities. While teachers
were presented Junior Companies and learned about Moodle and eLearning, students worked in groups on
weekends and free time, and then went out in town in order to discover places of interest and interview peo-
ple about values. In the afternoon, we were all offered an insight into Kitzbuhel’s famous ski race and we all
went up the mountain by gondola. Though at the foot of the mountain it was spring, up the mountain there
was still a lot of snow, so we had great fun playing, laughing and taking photos of the breathtaking view.
On Thursday, we all visited the National Park Museum Mittersill, a great museum, which goes beyond the tra-
ditional concept of a museum. In the evening, we all went to Oberndorf, where we participated to the Marks-
man/woman competition, a truly unique experience for most of us, which ended with traditional Austrian
food.
Unfortunately, every wonderful story has an end … so the last day finally arrived. With our hearts and souls full
of happy memories from the Austrian Alps, we were saying goodbye to one another, hoping that we would
sometime meet again… We all had mixed feelings … on the one hand, we felt nostalgia for the wonderful week
we had spent and on the other hand, we were happy to go back to our routine at home.
This has been such a concentrated week. We have learnt many things about ourselves and about the others.
We came into contact with the pristine and beautiful nature of the Tyrol and with the wonderful Austrian spir-
it, so disciplined and neat almost to perfection, but warm at heart at the same time.
Thank you Austria for this unforgettable experience! We had the week of a lifetime in Kitzbuhel!

typical for our school.
