up to look like this.
Here is where you
will begin the initial
sign up for
Facebook.
3. After filling it in, hit the
sign up button to head
to the next step.
You then have the option to find other friends
using Facebook who have linked their account
with e-mails. We’re going to go ahead and skip
this because you can search and add friends
later.
4. The next step you
can fill out some of
the profile
information, and also
decide who can view
that information. It
can be public,
friends, only you, or a
custom list that you
can create.
5. Here you can upload or
take a picture which
will be set as your
profile picture. You can
update this and add
new ones later. Hit
save and continue
when you’re finished.
6. Then you’re finished!
You can fill out your
page with other
information, add new
friends, upload
photos, or hit the

the side bar to post
your first status.

www.pinterest.com
and you should be
taken to the Pinterest
homepage.
9. Press the sign up with
Facebook and it will prompt
you to allow Pinterest to be
logged into with your
Facebook credentials.
10. After pressing okay on
the Facebook prompt it
will bring you to a quick
tour of Pinterest. Go
ahead and press next a
few times to see a few of
the capabilities of
Pinterest.
11. After that you can search some things you’re interested
in to see their relevant “pins.”
12. After finishing up the sign-up, click on your name
and select Follow Boards. This way you’ll be able
to start seeing some other people’s pins.
13. Go though some of
the interests on the
side till you find
some good boards
to follow. After
selecting five you
can go on to create
your own board.
14. Head back to the
homepage and hit the
plus button next to your
name.
Then select create a board.
15. Fill out the form and
create the board to
your liking.
You also have the
option to add a map
and make the board
secret (viewable
only by you.)
16. Here you can add pins from
websites, from your
computer, or search on
Pinterest to “re-pin” photos.
Select the web and then
enter a website URL and
Pinterest will take all
video’s and images
available for you to pin.
17. After entering a URL
you can select any of
the available pins to
put on your new board.
You can also find
friends on Pinterest,
and follow their pins as
well. That’s about it!
18. Google+
Enter in the URL bar
www.gmail.com and hit
create an account. If you
already have a gmail account
then you can skip these first
steps.
19. After you fill out all
the forms you can
head to the

the information
and press create
my account.

through a brief
tutorial of their
website and ask
you to follow at
least five people.
Go ahead and
select some
accounts.
24. After following a
few more people or
simply skipping
steps you can
upload a profile
image, and write a
short 160 character
biography about
yourself. These are
both public.
25. Once finished there, you’re
now able to compose new
tweets, see the tweets of
people you’re following,
popular people, and also
trending hashtags.
26. Hootsuite
Hootsuite is a cool
website that can be
used to manage your
social networks, or
business’s social
network. Go to
www.Hootsuite.com
and click the create
account button on the
top right.
27. Select free account for now,
and fill out the form before
pressing Create Account.
28. Here is where you
will connect the
desired social
networks with
Hootsuite. Go
ahead and select
the ones you want
and hit continue.
29. Once Hootsuite is
connected and
authorized to
manage your
accounts, a page
like this should
come up. Here we
used Twitter. You
can now add
streams to be
viewed on your
dashboard. Select
Home for now. It
will now look like
this.
30. To post or schedule a
tweet from here you
can select the
compose message
box, enter the
message, and either
post it or click the
calendar to set a date
and time for Hootsuite
to post it for you.
31. Keep in mind that when posting tweets
you are only allowed 160 characters. If
you are tweeting a web link but it is very
long, you can use a tool at www.Tiny.cc.
Enter in the URL for
the link you are
trying to shorten,
and either leave it
as customurl or put
some key-word if
it’s not already in
use. Then press
tiny!
32. It should then come up with a box labeled
Recent URLs where it will give you your
tiny.cc link, and any previous ones you’ve
made. It also tells you which URL they
correspond to, and gives you the option to
share the URL or even get a QR code for it.
These are much shorter and fit in tweets
much better.
33. Another function of
Hootsuite is the chart
button labeled
analytics where you
can generate infographics for your
social network
accounts. Feel free to
check out these
whenever!
