WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT
DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?
2. I believe that my magazine could be distributed in a wide range
of institutions. This could include music concerts and gigs as
well as local newsagents and supermarkets. I think my
magazine would especially suit being distributed at WHSmith
alongside other unique music magazines such as Q and NME.
Distribution within larger institution such as large chain
supermarkets like Tesco would enable my magazine to be
available to purchase for a wider audience, including those who
fit the bracket of my target audience.
I also believe that distributing my magazine through the form of
a webzine would be relevant especially to my target audience
of young people. A webzine would also increase the
advertisement for my magazine, therefore increasing it’s sales
and popularity. My magazine could also be distributed through
popular social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
This form of distribution could update readers on the newest
stories found in the magazine, encouraging them to buy the
paper copy to read more. This would be a key from of
distribution as social networking is so common, especially
among my target audience of young readers.
