3. Publishing
• Bauer media distribute magazines to wide audiences
even though some magazines they publish such as
Kerrang! have a niche target audience. My magazine
is also aimed at a niche audience so would likely to
be distributed by publishing companies such as
Bauer media with the same music genre as they
know the target audience well. This would
help to distribute my magazine as they
know their likes and dislikes of the
consumer.
4. Advertising
• Magazines with similar audiences, such as Kerrang! and
Rock sound are advertised through their own website,
social networking sites, TV channels and tour posters.
This is a popular way of getting their target audience as
most young people will frequently use social
networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
• As my magazine is aimed at a niche audience featuring
independent bands, advertising strategies would
include using Facebook and Twitter as they are free
and a popular way to communicate throughout young
people.
5. Distribution
• My product would be distributed to
high street shops such as HMV and WHSmith, it
would also be found in local newsagents. With the
emergence of web 2.0, it is easier to distribute copies
of the magazine online. I would also include a
subscription box in the magazine and one online so
regular readers can subscribe and be sent the
monthy issue to their house before it is distributed in
stores.
