JOB DESCRIPTION
HANDLING & TRANPORT SUPERVISOR

Job Title: Handling & Transport Supervisor
Department :Logistic & Marine Operations (LG)
Report to :Material Operations & Logistics Team Leader

1. Job purpose & Scope:
Guide and lead the team of Lifting Section for effective and safe lifting practice in the logistic division.
Plan, control, supervises and coordinates activities involve in handling, transportation, vehicle maintenance, shipping
operations, waste management collection, segregation & disposal in accordance with all sites work programmed and
schedules.

3. Principal Accountabilities:
1. Prepares a variety of materials (e.g. reports, memos, letter, procedures, manuals, scope of work, technical
evaluation, call of tender, budget, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written
reference, and/or conveying information.
2. Supervise interface between COMPANY’S and Contractor’s needs.
3. Supervise the vessels movement in close coordination with Mussafah and other sites for sailing
instructions, shipping operations, bunkering, supply of materials and stevedoring.
4. Performs personnel administrative functions (e.g. hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, providing
professional development opportunities, rotational leave charts, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining
adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel and ensuring department/program outcomes are
achieved.
5. Assist is structured development of nationals to fullfil line positions.
6. Arranges for substitutes and stand-by drivers or may drive a bus to cover absences for the purpose of
providing adequate coverage to meet the transportation needs of the personnel’s.
7. Develop effective transport and handling procedures compatible with projects requirements in close
cooperation with the Warehouse, Production and Maintenance Departments.
8. Ensure clean environment by making all heavy & Light vehicles/equipment’s running in good mechanical
condition.
9. Prepares & follow-ups budget, insurance, registration, permits formalities for all COMPANY’S owned and
contracted vehicles in coordination with relevant departments. Investigates traffic accidents and follow-up
insurance claims.
10. Maintains personnel records, and other mandated information which required (e.g. route information,

budget, vehicle inspection records, fuel use, time report, personnel records etc.)
Schedules repairs of all COMPANY’S & Contracted vehicles for the purpose of ensuring that the vehicle is
in a safe operating condition.
Conducts regular inspections for the purpose of ensuring work quality, performance and production, and
assuring that staff performance is meeting established standards and expectation.
Assesses incidents, complaints and/or accidents for the purpose of resolving or recommending services
and/or programs.
Procures fuel, shop supplies, spare parts etc. for the purpose of ensuring availability of required items for
transportation service department.
Plan priorities of jobs according to site and plant needs.
Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering
information required to performed functions.
Establish clear work methods & organize equipment movement, control & distribution of respective
locations compatible with the established standard & procedures to fall in line with the plant requirement.
Supervises Handling & Transportation personnel, including hiring/termination recommendations, planning /
scheduling / coordinating activities, training, advising, consulting, etc. for the purpose of ensuring that
department functions in a safe and efficient manner.
Manage and control cranes, trucks maintenance programme, monitor the preventive maintenance, ensure
the flow of required spare parts to keep always the equipment in good operation shape and minimize
failure which may affect production.
Develop inspection strategies and plan for all lifting equipment’s.
Responsible for execution of all lifting operations
Undertakes on an ongoing basis a comprehensive study of physical distribution logistics for cargo,
equipment and spare parts of all COMPANY’S and contracted vehicles in Ports.
Prepare statistical data for all equipment and back charge of all contractors.
Handling and supervise waste management collection & disposal activities in close coordination with LGMTB Mussafah..

25. “HSE”
a. Responds to emergencies including after-hours situations for the purpose of addressing immediate
safety concerns.
b. Ensure safe operations of heavy equipment performance and monitor implementation of COMPANY’S
HSE Policy and code of practice.
c. Coordinate with PSS (production) to apply HSE Policy on permit to work system.
d. Supervise and control Heavy lifting and Transport contract to insure optimum and safe utilization in line
with HSE objectives.
e. Formulate & help implementing solution for enhancing logistics standard through greater efficiency, i.e.
reduce cost by maintaining high standards of maintenance to satisfy the HSE objectives.

Independence of Operations and Decision-making Authority:
Work in close coordination with Ports Logistics Team Leader having direct contact with all Team Leader as per PDO

Physical Effort:
20% work involves frequent periods of driving,
standing and walking

7. Work Environment:
70 % in normal air-condition environment. 30 % exposed to
prevailing conditions of heat, humidity and dust.

Minimum Requirements:

Bsc Mechanical engineering or equivalent
10 years relevant experience in Oil and Gas industry.
Competent, trained and certified Crane Lifting Engineer
LEEA-UK Certification Part-1 or Part-1 or equivalent
Possess a valid UAE License
Fluent in English
Communication and computer skill

  • 1. JOB DESCRIPTION HANDLING & TRANPORT SUPERVISOR Job Title: Handling & Transport Supervisor Department :Logistic & Marine Operations (LG) Report to :Material Operations & Logistics Team Leader 1. Job purpose & Scope: Guide and lead the team of Lifting Section for effective and safe lifting practice in the logistic division. Plan, control, supervises and coordinates activities involve in handling, transportation, vehicle maintenance, shipping operations, waste management collection, segregation & disposal in accordance with all sites work programmed and schedules. 2. Dimensions: Others: As per DOA 2.1 Budget Operating Capital:  Material Handling, Transportation and Vehicle Maintenance Services Contracted Drivers  Rented Vehicles Contract 2.2 No. of Subordinates;  Material Handling, Transportation & Vehicle Maintenance Services. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Prepares a variety of materials (e.g. reports, memos, letter, procedures, manuals, scope of work, technical evaluation, call of tender, budget, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information. 2. Supervise interface between COMPANY’S and Contractor’s needs. 3. Supervise the vessels movement in close coordination with Mussafah and other sites for sailing instructions, shipping operations, bunkering, supply of materials and stevedoring. 4. Performs personnel administrative functions (e.g. hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, providing professional development opportunities, rotational leave charts, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel and ensuring department/program outcomes are achieved. 5. Assist is structured development of nationals to fullfil line positions. 6. Arranges for substitutes and stand-by drivers or may drive a bus to cover absences for the purpose of providing adequate coverage to meet the transportation needs of the personnel’s. 7. Develop effective transport and handling procedures compatible with projects requirements in close cooperation with the Warehouse, Production and Maintenance Departments. 8. Ensure clean environment by making all heavy & Light vehicles/equipment’s running in good mechanical condition. 9. Prepares & follow-ups budget, insurance, registration, permits formalities for all COMPANY’S owned and contracted vehicles in coordination with relevant departments. Investigates traffic accidents and follow-up insurance claims. 10. Maintains personnel records, and other mandated information which required (e.g. route information,

Conducts regular inspections for the purpose of ensuring work quality, performance and production, and assuring that staff performance is meeting established standards and expectation. Assesses incidents, complaints and/or accidents for the purpose of resolving or recommending services and/or programs. Procures fuel, shop supplies, spare parts etc. for the purpose of ensuring availability of required items for transportation service department. Plan priorities of jobs according to site and plant needs. Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to performed functions. Establish clear work methods & organize equipment movement, control & distribution of respective locations compatible with the established standard & procedures to fall in line with the plant requirement. Supervises Handling & Transportation personnel, including hiring/termination recommendations, planning / scheduling / coordinating activities, training, advising, consulting, etc. for the purpose of ensuring that department functions in a safe and efficient manner. Manage and control cranes, trucks maintenance programme, monitor the preventive maintenance, ensure the flow of required spare parts to keep always the equipment in good operation shape and minimize failure which may affect production. Develop inspection strategies and plan for all lifting equipment’s. Responsible for execution of all lifting operations Undertakes on an ongoing basis a comprehensive study of physical distribution logistics for cargo, equipment and spare parts of all COMPANY’S and contracted vehicles in Ports. Prepare statistical data for all equipment and back charge of all contractors. Handling and supervise waste management collection & disposal activities in close coordination with LGMTB Mussafah.. 25. “HSE” a. Responds to emergencies including after-hours situations for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns. b. Ensure safe operations of heavy equipment performance and monitor implementation of COMPANY’S HSE Policy and code of practice. c. Coordinate with PSS (production) to apply HSE Policy on permit to work system. d. Supervise and control Heavy lifting and Transport contract to insure optimum and safe utilization in line with HSE objectives. e. Formulate & help implementing solution for enhancing logistics standard through greater efficiency, i.e. reduce cost by maintaining high standards of maintenance to satisfy the HSE objectives. 4. Organizational Relationships (Work Contacts) 5. All departments in Ports in addition to all section in CM, LG and OSES -Abu Dhabi. Independence of Operations and Decision-making Authority: Work in close coordination with Ports Logistics Team Leader having direct contact with all Team Leader as per PDO

Work Environment: 70 % in normal air-condition environment. 30 % exposed to prevailing conditions of heat, humidity and dust. Minimum Requirements: a. b. c. d. e. f. g. Bsc Mechanical engineering or equivalent 10 years relevant experience in Oil and Gas industry. Competent, trained and certified Crane Lifting Engineer LEEA-UK Certification Part-1 or Part-1 or equivalent Possess a valid UAE License Fluent in English Communication and computer skill
