Job Title
: Waste Management Coordinator
Department: Logistics & Mar. Ops. (LG)
Reports to : Team Leader
1. Job purpose & Scope:
To ensure full compliance of Waste / scrap management practices in COMPANY’S’s Ports. Maintain
and coordinate the Waste / scrap management operations with all concerned on Ports. Provide
guidance and training on Waste / scrap handling Management and for continuous improvement.

3 Principal Accountabilities:
1. Supervises, control and coordinates the day-to-day activities regarding waste handling from all
Ports to Waste Management Area in accordance to company approved procedures.
2. Controls the arrival and dispatch of the hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.
3. Consolidates and maintains record forms and prepares waste / scrap statistics reports for
management review.
4. Prepares all related documents regarding dispatched waste items and makes them ready for next
shipment to Musaffah.
5. Ensures that all sections utilize the waste containers / skips properly and follow-up on
requirements.
6. Maintains records and tracks all waste handling containers / skips.
7. To classify the waste into different categories, such as domestic waste, industrial waste,
Hazardous and non-hazardous waste, Medical waste, etc.
8. Monitors the assembly, segregation and disposal process of industrial and domestic waste and
ensures that the operations are strictly carried as per company’s HSE policy and procedures.
9. Acts as focal point at the Waste Management Yard and coordinates with all concerned parties.
10. Follows up the disposal of hazardous wastes and ensures that the chain of custody forms are
completed and returned back to the originator.
11. Liaise with shipping section to ensure waste containers / skips are dispatched to Musaffah on
time to avoid accumulation of wastes at site.
12. Ensures high standard of housekeeping in the yard, especially at the waste handling areas.
13. Provides opportunities for training and development of U.A.E. nationals under his direction and
assesses their progress and integration.
14. Assumes Permit to Work System (PTW) signature authority through Operations authorization
process and sign Vehicle Entry Permits & Hot Work permits as performing authority for removing
materials from plant.
15. Performs other related or similar duties such as planning and controlling the work/leave, cycle of
sub-ordinates to ensure adequate operational manpower cover at all times, writing reports,
answering queries, recommending renewal / amendments to service contracts,
reviewing/enhancing stores operations procedures etc.
16. Works under direct supervision of Team Leader.

17. Ensure compliance and implementation of company HSEMS policies, standards and
procedures.
4 Organizational Relationships (Work Contacts):
Permanent contacts with all sites logistic focal points and Musaffah Base.
5. Independence of Operations and Decision-making Authority:
Works in accordance with COMPANY’S established procedures. Exercise discretion in
planning work, in accordance with HSE conditions and evaluating performance values.

6. Physical Effort:
Standing and walking most of the
working time. Required to use tools
and test equipment and good
computer operating skills.
7. Work Environment:
Approximately 70% of the working time is spent
exposed to weather conditions and dirt, grease and
noise when on site. The remainder is spent in an airconditioned environment.
8. Minimum Requirements:
a. Completion of high school and a diploma in Technical discipline or equivalent.
b. 6 years practical experience in major operating Oil & Gas Company
c. Good command of English language, written and spoken.
d. Good computer skills.
