2. The title of the film needs to be short and memorable
as the audience will need something easy to
remember. The title should reflect the narrative of the
film and give a clue to what the film will be about
without any information.
I have chosen the title ‘The Pursuer’. This is
because my film is about a stalker who tries to
pursue the girl he is following. The title of my
film is simple so that it stands out when it
appears on the screen at the end of the
opening sequence.
4. The typography in this shot is cut into two
and is simple. The shot is of a close up of
an eye and a person walking through the
door. This gives the audience information
about the narrative. The use of no colour
is effective as it creates shadows which
create suspense and tension.
The typography in this shot is minimal
which is effective as it makes you focus
on the background. The background is an
establishing shot of the setting. The image
is dark which links with the thriller genre as
is could give hints of dark, mysterious
characters or a sinister plot.
The typography in this shot uses colour
which is effective as the shot is dull and
dark with headlights of a car in the
distance which could suggest following
someone. The lettering is spaced out
which could suggest that there are twists
within the plot of the film which peak at
certain points.
5. The title of my film will be minimal, red and spaced out. The red typography
connotes desire, danger and blood which will add hints to the audience for the
plot. The minimalistic approach to the typography font will make the audience
focus on the shot behind the title. The large in-between spacing of the letters
will make the audience feel lost as the letters aren’t connected to each other.
This will add confusion to the audience which will connect with the
psychological subgenre of my film. The shot will be a close up of an eye with a
reflection in the pupil of a collage of photos of Katie Jackson which has been
repeated throughout the scene. The shot inside the pupil will have a faded
colour to make it stand out against the black and white shot of the eye
however the bright red title will still be the main focus of the shot.
