The student used various media technologies throughout the construction, research, planning, and evaluation stages of their coursework. Blogger was used to publish work and show development. Survey Monkey was used to conduct audience research during planning and evaluate the final product. YouTube was utilized for uploading the final video, researching conventions, and planning. Photoshop and Premiere Pro aided construction. SlideShare, Facebook Messenger, Google, email, PowerPoint, Word, and a camera also supported various stages.

RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?
Blogger
One of the main media technologies used throughout every stage in my coursework was Blogger. I used blogger to publish all my work onto and show the
development from the start of my media package to the end. It included every piece of work I completed throughout the research, planning and
construction stages. I used blogger for my coursework in the first year of studying media studies and I found it very helpful and reliable to use therefore
this persuaded me to use it again for my A2 coursework. Using blogger allowed me to present my work in a stylish and professional way as I could design
my blog to my liking. I also thought it was a reliable media platform because I never had any problems with uploading my work and also it ensured that it
never got lost or deleted. It’s an easy way of presenting work to a naive reader as it is straightforward to use and presents work in a clear way.

Survey Monkey
Survey Monkey was one of the most essential media technologies I used during the research stages of my coursework. I had already used Survey Monkey
in my first year and again found it a very useful and an easy platform to use and collect the appropriate research I needed. Survey Monkey was easy to use
as it allows you to construct a survey easily, however in a professional way. I used Survey Monkey to construct a survey to collect audience research for the
genre we were researching into. This allowed us to wider our audience and look further into the audience’s like’s and dislikes when it comes to the genre
and the music video we were recreating. Creating a survey monkey survey allowed us to share the link on social networking sites and with our peers easily.
They may feel able to answer honestly because it is anonymous and doesn’t involve any human interaction.
Survey Monkey was also used in the evaluation stages. This was to help answer the third question of the evaluation as it was based on what the audience
thought about our final product. We thought it would be an effective way of collecting honest feedback based on our media package, this is because it is
anonymous and again doesn’t include any human interaction therefore the audience may feel more at ease when answering the questions.

RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?
Youtube
Youtube was an important media platform that helped in the construction stages because it allowed us to upload our final, completed music video once we
were finished. This doesn’t only offer a platform to upload our music video onto, but it also helps widen the audience of our music video as it is an
extremely popular website and could be viewed by a large amount of people.
Youtube was also an important platform during the research and planning stages because it allowed me to research other music videos from the chosen
genre. This helped me analyse similar music videos in detail and identify key forms and conventions of alternative rock / pop music videos. This further
helped me plan my music video by outlining common forms and conventions which I should include in my music video.

RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?
Premier Pro and Photoshop
I used both of these media technologies in the first year of my
Media Studies, however I was still fairly unfamiliar with these
platforms. Premiere Pro allowed me to design my music video and
edit my interviews for the research stage of the coursework. I may
have been unfamiliar with this platform, however it was designed in
a way which made it simple to edit videos and straight forward to
use. I used Premiere to upload and verge the different clips
together in the order I wanted. It also allowed me to cut the clips
and edit them to my liking. For example, I made edits between the
shots which made the transition between the shots more
professional and resembled existing music videos more. It also
allowed me to edit the green screen and include a background on
the live performance shots which weren’t part of the natural setting.
The design of Premiere Pro helped me find the tool which I needed
in order to create the desired effect.
Photoshop was the other complicated media platform I used in the
construction stages of my coursework. However I was more familiar
with this media platform because I had used it more last year. It
helped me design my album advert and digipak, using Photoshop
allowed me to make these media products appear attractive and
professional. The tools on the media platform allowed me create
the paint theme to both of the media products, this is because we
imported the brush files which allowed us to use the different sizes
and colours of paint strokes and paint splatters. Photoshop also
allowed me to use the certain fonts featured on both products.
Photoshop also helped in the planning stages because it allowed us
to plan our drafts on Photoshop to see if our ideas looked
presentable or not.

RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?
Slideshare
Slideshare is a media technology which I also used in the first year of Media Studies, so I was familiar with this platform. I used Slideshare throughout the
research, planning and evaluation stages of my coursework, this is because it came in useful when uploading a PowerPoint or word document to my blog.
It allowed me to present my work in an alternative way to just images of the PowerPoint slides. It allows the audience to view the PowerPoints on my blog
as actual PowerPoints, which makes my work look more presentable and straightforward to follow.
7. HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION,
RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?
Facebook Messenger and Imessage
Facebook and Imessages were the media platforms we used to gain audience feedback on the media package we created. These platforms allowed us to
send our products easily t it s audience by simply sending a few links and images. We decided to se these technologies because they are very popular
amongst the younger generation and the audience for our media package was of this sort of age therefor we thought this method of collecting audience
feedback was appropriate.

RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?
Powerpoint and Word
I have used the media technologies PowerPoint and Word throughout the whole of my school / college career, therefore I am very familiar with this basis
form of media platform. It has been very useful to me as it has allowed me to share every stage of my work in a presentable manner which showed every
detail to the progress of my coursework. Due to having a lot of experience with these media platforms, it allows me to use my skills with these media
platforms and present my work in a professional way for the audience. These media technologies allowed me to documents all my work and easily upload
it to my blog via these platforms.

RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?
Google
Without the media technology, Google, I wouldn’t have been able to carry out my coursework. This is because all of my research involved the internet and
google enabled me to research existing products from the chosen genre (alternative rock / pop) and analyse their forms and conventions and incorporate
this into my own products. It also helped me research into the band ‘The Script’ which was the band who were the publishers of the music video we were
recreating. This helped us become familiar with the band, genre and their audiences. Researching into these things has helped me make my media
products resemble existing media products as I have become familiar with the appropriate forms and and conventions of the genre I had chosen. Its has
also allowed me to make my media package professional and as attractive as it can be and suit the audience accordingly. Google helped me in the
planning stages of my coursework because it helped me look at existing products and help inspire my ideas for my own promotional package. Google
helped in the construction stages because I wasn’t confident and familiar when using Premiere pro and Photoshop, therefore I turned the google when I
was unsure of techniques I could use on these media platforms which helped strengthen my media products.
Google mail has been an important
and essential media technology used
throughout the whole of the stages in
my coursework. This is because I have
used Gmail to email myself files in order
to access files on different computers.
10. HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION,
RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?
Camera
We had use this media technology in the first year and therefore was familiar with this product. Due to the high megapixels, this camera allowed us to
capture images and videos of extremely good quality. This also allowed the editing process in the construction stage to run smoother as the image quality
was clear to see so we could edit the products accordingly.
These were
some of the
images that was
taken with the
camera.
