The target audience for the rock music magazine are teenagers and young adults who enjoy rock music genres. Both male and female rock fans between ages 15-25 would be interested in the magazine. Articles will focus on rock bands, concerts, albums and other topics of interest to youth who constantly listen to music. The affordable price of £2.50 per monthly issue aims to attract repeat purchases from the audience who has limited income as students or part-time workers.
1. 4. What would be the
audience for your media
product?
2. Alex is a seventeen year old boy who has a love for
rock music, his favourite bands include: You Me At Six,
Lower Than Atlantis and Arctic Monkeys. He is a
student at Winstanley college and enjoys doing his AS
photography as well as continuing it as a hobby. He
goes to gigs every so often and is going to the Leeds
festival this year to see some of the rock bands. He
has a love for rugby and supports Wigan warriors, he
used to play for his local team newton storm.
3. Ashleigh has a love for rock music and it is seen as
her favourite genre of music. She is a huge fan of
arctic monkeys and has been too a few of their
concerts and is waiting more to be realised. She
also likes Panic and the disco, Kings of leon and
You me at six. She likes their style of writing and
music background.
When it comes to Ashleigh's personal life, she
works at Nando’s part time and loves to play Xbox
games such as halo.
Ashleigh is a 17 year old student at Carmel
college.
4. The audience for my magazine consists of both
genders who like rock music.
I chose to aim it or both genders because the music
is relevant to both. In the rock artist world, there are
both single artist and bands, which consist of both
genders.
The colours I used represented both genders as I
used the two colours from my survey that shown as
most popular, taking into consideration I had both
males and females answer my questionnaire.
5. My target audience age varies in teens, mainly the older
teenagers who are into their music a little more and like to
keep updated all the time.
Teenagers and young adults are usually the age group that
comes to mind when rock music is mentioned. This is because
this generation are known for liking loud music that can really
get your attention.
This age group constantly listens to music, and always have
their ear/headphones in, its likely that when you go out most
of the teenagers around have them in and you can slightly hear
the music blasting.
The articles I produced were all relevant to this age group as
they were all rock related and the wording being informal as
well as formal made it more relatable as that language is used
in their everyday life.
6. Due to the age of this group, I priced my magazine at
£2.50 making it affordable for a monthly release.
Also taking into account that this groups spending
power is very little, therefore it was important to
keep the price range at a decent rate.
As a monthly magazine I found it important to not
over price the magazine as for this particular age it
may not be appealing for them to buy every issue
due to its price, when really you want them to buy
each monthly issue.
The reason for this little spending power is because
this age range means that some are pupils, students
and maybe part time workers, showing that most are
in education.
