The target audience for the media product is 16-20 year olds, appealing to both males and females, who have a casual yet ambitious lifestyle. The sample character, Ronnie, is a 17 year old student who loves alternative rock music and attending concerts. She enjoys spending time alone but also socializing at parties. As the creator is also a 16 year old student, they feel they can relate to the target audience and understand what would appeal to them in a magazine. Feedback from the target audience was positive, confirming the magazine was a good fit.

When deciding my target audience, I had to take into
account many different factors such as:
Social economic group-Middle Class
Age-16-20
Gender-Both, the content of the magazine can appeal to
both male and female.
Lifestyle-A very casual, yet fun and ambitious lifestyle
Ethnicity-Any, although it would probably appeal more to
Caucasian.

3. Character profile
Ronnie is 17 years old an is currently going to 6th form
and therefore in full-time education, she studies drama
media and art. She loves media, especially the music
side of things and is very passionate in carrying it on
and eventually becoming a music producer. Her
favourite hobby is going to as many concerts as
possible mainly the ones with alternative rock music,
Ronnie has loved alternative rock music for a long
time, and is currently in an alternative rock band with
some of her classmates. Overall she loves any kind of
rock music, old or new. Her favourite artists are Cold-
play, the Calling, the rolling stones and Wheatus.

4. The main reason she likes alternative rock so much is that
it can be loud and bold or slow with brilliant guitar
work, either way the lyrics in alt rock are so deep and
meaningful, which can help people through tough times,
and it inspired her to become whatever she wanted to.
Ronnie likes to spend time on her own, but when an
opportunity arises to go out to parties she snaps it up,
she loves the night-life, as it is a reason to have a dance
to some of her favourite songs. She is a casual person
and so hangs around with only a few other people, she
sees it as having less to worry about and the fewer
people makes the socialising more casual and laid back.

5. Conclusion
As I am at the same point in life as Ronnie, seeing as I
am 16 and in full time education also I believe that I
am able to relate to my target audience, this means I
am able to understand more about what they want and
do not want to see in a magazine, this in turn made it
easier to research and make my magazine because I
already had an idea of what would be a good idea to
base it on. So in saying this I believe that my target
audience would like my magazine. The feedback I got
from them was very positive and so all of my research
into magazines and my target audience needs have
really paid off in making a magazine that fits with my
target audience.
