Beyond the EU: DORA and NIS 2 Directive's Global Impact
Assure Method
1. • Analyze Learners: This lesson is designed for my first grade classroom. The students are
either five or six years old. There are ten boys and seven girls. They vary from a few different
ethnicities, such as; Caucasian, African American, along with a few Hispanic. Seven of my
students have been diagnosed with mild to severe ADHD, meaning that they do tend to get
easily distracted and have a hard time concentrating and being able to focus.
• State Objectives: The ABCD of a well stated objective is audience, behavior, conditions, and
degree.
• Audience: My students
• Behavior: will be able to consecutively list the months of the year.
• Conditions: They will be able to do this by associating certain events/ holidays and/or
objects with each of the twelve months. They will work together to design a calendar
including the events and objects they learned about.
(Time): They will achieve this goal by the end of next week, allowing them to focus on six
months per week.
• Degree: My students will do this with 90% accuracy.
• Select Methods, Media, and Materials:
• Methods: I will first introduce the twelve months of the year to my students by doing the
Macarena moves while saying a different month for every move I make. I believe this will
easily get their attention.
• Media: I will then begin showing my students different images of objects that people often
associate with particular months of the year. While I am doing this, I will ask my students
what the picture reminds them of, and begin to start guiding them towards associating
certain objects towards particular months of the year.
• Materials: All of the materials I will need, I will be able to find around my classroom. I
will provide my students with all of the craft supplies they will need to create their
classroom calendar.
• Utilize Media and Materials:
• Preview the Materials: I will preview my ideas that I have for the materials I want to
provide for my students to use.
• Prepare the Material: I will have packets of materials grouped together for each of my
students to use to create their part of the calendar.
• Prepare the Environment: Everything will be sorted out for my students to use. They will
be made aware of how all of the supplies should be used in a realistic manner.
• Prepare the Learners: I will introduce the students to the subject by playing the Macarena
music and begin doing the moves to the dance while yelling out each month of the year
while I am making another dance move.
• Provide a Presentation: I have to do everything I can to get them excited about this lesson
in the beginning with hopes of keeping their attention all the way through.
• Require Learning Participation: Different kids learn in different ways due to different
learning styles.
- One way I will have my students participating is by standing up and singing/dancing along
with me. Even if they do not get it right the first time around, the activity will get my students
2. out of their seat.
- The next thing I will do to begin getting them familiar with the months is each day we will
take whichever month we will be working on and we will take our time and spell out the month
all together.
- After that we will discuss different things that may happen during this month.
I will then get out the paint and the kids will use their hands and the paint colors I give them to
create what the particular month represents. For example; January would have blue handprints
overlapping each other to represent a snowflake and February would have two red handprints
formed together to make a heart. There is a different image they can create with their hands for
every month of the year.
This will also provide the students with an option of something that they could use for the big
picture for one of the chosen months.
Evaluate and Revise: I am sure that I will have to make some altercations to the lessons
that I have planned while I am transition from day to day, teaching them about all of the
different months. At the end of everyday, I will recap about the month we spent time on
that day along with all of the months we have previously spent time on, with hopes of
keeping the lessons fresh in their minds. When it comes to evaluating the students, I am
open to them showing me that they know the months of the year in an assortment of
different ways. If they want to write them down for me on paper, I will accept that. I am
open to them listing them off for me, or even doing the months of the year dance if that is
what makes them feel most comfortable. All in hopes of reaching a 90% accuracy
