2. My package for my album include a music video, magazine
advert and a digi-pack. All of these products are linked to my
album and promote the album well. To start with the music
video. The video includes lots of conventions of a pop music
video including a very prominent storyline, bright vibrant
colours and lip-syncing. By including all of these conventions
in my music video it helps to promote the album to the target
audience of teens aged 16 -24. This is because they can
instantly tell what genre is of the album and it will stand out
to those who like pop that the whole ablum will be full of pop
as they can see clearly the pop conventions coming through
the music video.
3. In my digi-pack we made sure that it coincided with my music
video and my magazine advert. I did this by having the same
character on all of the products in my promotion pack. This is
good for our target audience as they can see that all of the
products are linked and are all to do with one album. I used a
golden bubble effects in all of the products that are in my
package to show a clear link between them all. This is similar
to the beyonce promotional package for her album runnin’. I
took the idea of convergence over all my products from this as
for the younger end of my target audience makes it easy to
see they are all connected.
4. All of my products I created for my promotional package
include a female well dressed. I did this for the theory of the
male gaze. By having this in all of my products it will capture
the attention of the male audience as they will be atracted to
her and the female audience will want to be like her. This
technique will capture the attention of my target audience.
The target audience is ages 16-25, this age group is very
involved with the apperance of themselves and other people.
By using the male gaze theory within my products helps to
promote the album as people will be more attracted to
looking and watching at all the products.
5. By having a magazine advert as one of my products it opens
up to a wider target audience. This product stayed appropriate
and similar to my music video by having a light hearted feel
about through the character on the advert having a smile on
her face. This made the product feel friendlier and is similar to
how I wanted the music video to make the audience feel.
Having all three of my products light hearted and have a
friendly approach to them it made it more appropriate and
suitable for my target audience as they are interested in
having fun and casual approach towards things. The music
video, digi-pack and magazine advert were all created with
the same colour scheme, conventions and feel to them as they
were all created for the same target audience.
6. This is similar to promotional package of Selena Gomez for her
single ‘Same old love’. In the package she uses the same type
of image in all of her products and in these images she has a
smile on her face this is to draw in her target audience which
is the same one my promotional package is aimed at. Just like
I tried to do in my music video Selena has used the male gaze
to attract her audience in to the single as she has an image of
her well dressed in every product in this package.
