2. My main product was my media video which was all
performance based and was filmed to the song ‘Foolish Little
Girl’ which is a redone version of the song by Dionne Bromfield.
The music video was created to try and create a 60’s style
feeling to the video but with a modern day twist.
I tried to make this obvious by the camera shots I used as well as
the style of the girls who featured in my video. I also used a
black and white effect on my video to try and make it more
obvious that I was trying to create an olden kind of feeling
throughout the video.
3. The ancillary text parts of my project consist of my Digi-Pak and
my magazine advert. I created a CD cover so that I could show
what I would want my CD to look at if I was to actually sell the
CD featuring the song that I used for my music video.
I then created a magazine advert to show how I would
advertise the new album and the new song to the public. I
created the advert to show that I would create an advert that
linked to my video as well as my CD cover that also stood out at
the same time.
4. The main themes that I have used throughout all three of my media
projects is the on going black and white theme that’s used in my
video, on my CD cover and on my magazine advert.
I’ve been consistent with this specific effect simply because I’ve tried
to get that 60’s feel throughout all of my media projects because the
song I chose to do first came out in the 60’s so by using this old
fashioned kind of style is representing when this song first came out.
I’ve also kept the genre throughout my main project and ancillary
texts simply by the clothes the girls are wearing as well as the way
they have their makeup.
The girls throughout the video are wearing clothes that you would
kind of see in the 60’s but with today’s modern twist on them. Then
I’ve gone for 60’s styles makeup throughout the whole of my media
video as well as for the photos used within my Digi-Pak as well as my
magazine advert.
5. Another common theme that I’ve used within all three of my
media projects are the use of the paper hearts. The paper
hearts are used throughout the whole of my music video
because they represent how this girl is being foolish because
she’s madly in love with a guy who she once had a chance with
but messed it up with.
So the hearts are used to represent the love she still has for this
guy and then when she rips it; it’s showing how she’s broken that
he’s found someone else.
The ripped hearts are then used in the images for my Digi-Pak as
well as in the image for my magazine advert. I’ve done this
because I think the paper hearts play an important part in my
video as they add that extra bit of detail.
Therefore I thought it would be a good idea to then use them
throughout my other media projects to get a kind of ‘love’
based feel across to my audience.
6. Throughout my main product I tried to make it come across that
Deanna was the main performer within my video and that Annie
and Beth were her backing dancers. I did this by making her
wear different clothes to the others and taking more shots of her
so that she stood out from the others a lot more as well.
I also tried to get her to come across as this young teenage girl
who’s foolishly in love on my ancillary text projects as well by just
having her in the images holding the paper hearts up. On the
front cover the main focus is the paper heart that she’s holding
up to the camera where you can barely see her face.
I’ve done this so that it comes across that the love she’s feeling
for this guy is overtaking her which is why when you look at the
cover you would mainly focus on the paper heart that she’s
holding instead of the artist standing behind it.
7. I think that my whole media pack (the video as well as the Digi-
Pak and magazine advert) all work well together to represent
the genre that I’m trying to get across.
As well as presenting the artist and the backing dancers in a
way where you can tell that she’s a modern day version of 60’s
female.
I’ve tried to get this kind of image across on each individual
media project so that they easily link in with each other and that
you can also easily tell that the CD cover I created goes well
with the music video that I created.
8. Overall, I think that my promo pack all works well together. Simply because
I’ve tried to keep each aspect of my promo pack simple but still look
effective.
When creating each individual project of my promo pack I had to ensure
that I kept including features that linked to each other such as the effect
used on the photos as well as in the video.
Also, I think I did well at keeping the style of the girls consistent throughout
the video as well as in the photos for the CD cover and my magazine
advert. Additionally, I also made sure that I made use of the paper hearts.
This is because I think that there’s a hidden message behind the paper
hearts that the audience would only really notice by them being used in
more than one of the aspects of my promo pack. That’s why I used the
hearts throughout my video as well as in the photo’s to try and get across
the message about how the main performer is foolishly in love but they just
can’t see that it’s going to end in disaster.
By keeping these main three themes consistent throughout the making of
all areas of my promo pack I think it’s made them go together really well
as you can easily see that they come from the same back as they all have
the same kind of features included in them.
