CHAPTER I. INTRODUCTION
The experience of developed countries and newly industrialized countries in the
world as well as in the Asia - Pacific region have shown, in the necessary conditions for
the integration and development of the language is a tool and means of effectively and
efficiently in the process of integration and development in this era. The teaching and
learning of foreign languages has made great contribution to the progress in all areas of
social life of our country during the past years. The communication and information
exchange to enhance understanding between the economic, social and cultural diversity
becomes fundamental for the development of a common strategy for the benefit of all.
Internship time - is a form of learning that most students are obligated to practice
in final year at university. The students in the learning process at the university
auditorium, the knowledge gained will have a chance to practice during this internship.
The selection of companies, business or organization to practice not only an ordinary
work of them, but also brings students the opportunity to practice what they have learned.
The selection of Thai Nguyen Lam Co.,Ltd is a basis for practice because of the
following reasons: Firstly, I majored in English Bachelor of Commerce is a branch about
commercial business and I know that business operations of the company fitting with my
major. Secondly, I know that the company received internship student annually. Thirdly,
Thai Nguyen Lam Company has a professional working environment, modern corporate
culture and especially very friendly. And finally, I know that Thai Nguyen Lam
Company will be a good place for me to internship the knowledge that I have learned.
Above all, the staff of the company always have a high responsibilities and high focus in
the job with the desire to contribute to the training of staff with high foreign language
skills in commercial english.
As an English-majored student of University of Thu Dau Mot, I have an opportunity
to study and work at Thai Nguyen Lam Co,.Ltd for my internship course. This is a
valuable opportunity for me to practice my English knowledge, communication skill and
experience and soft skills from everybody in the company. I myself think that the
company is an ideal organization that students of foreign languages can collect
information and get valuable work experience .

2.1 INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION ABOUT ORGANIZATION OF

Thai Nguyen Lam Co.,Ltd in Ho Chi Minh City was established on 14/02/2007.
Over nearly nine years of construction and development, the company has made great
progress in many areas of activity such as trade, services and transport it is always ready
to provide the high quality products and services . The company has rapidly grown not
only in scale, human resources, but also a business in the product distribution and
transport functions prestige in Vietnam. To achieve these accomplishments, from the
outset, Thai Nguyen Lam has determined themselves with specific orientations and
business philosophy like a red thread through the process of formation and development
of the company. Along with the strong development of commercial activities and services
in Vietnam in recent years, the company has significant developments in business
activities such as creating quality products in the form of diversified transport to provide

2.2.1 Job description
My job is a receptionist in the company. Reception practice is not simple, but also
not too difficult as I thought. A receptionist is often the first business contact a person
will meet at any organization. It is an expectation of most organizations that the
receptionist maintains a calm, courteous and professional demeanor at all times
regardless of the visitor’s behavior. Therefore, I think that receptionist is a very enjoyable
and interesting job.
The first, the duty of a receptionist may include answering customers’ inquiries
about the company and its products or services, sorting and handing out mails, as
switchboard, setting appointments, filing, records keeping, keyboarding entry and
performing a variety of other office tasks, such as receiving, directing and relaying
telephone messages and faxing messages, picking up and delivering the mail, opening
and dating stamp all general correspondence, maintaining the general filing system and
filing all correspondence, assisting in the planning and preparation of meetings,
conferences and conference telephone calls.
Sometimes, the receptionists may also perform book keeping or cashiering duties.
Some, but not all, offices may expect the receptionist to serve coffee or tea to guests, and
to keep lobbying area tidy.
Moreover, with this job, I could be better contacting with everybody.
Consequently, in order to give satisfaction of fastidious customers, I must be patient and
harmony. I have to sympathize and listen to all requests from visitors. They are nice,
courteous, and polite so my job is favor and safety. My mistake services were always
been sympathized by them.
In addition, during practice I have learned and acquainted with the following
works:

with customers; use the devices supported, such as phone, fax, letters of
recommendation,...

- Marketing: Through the promotion of the company that I have learned a few
ways to promote brand such as on a website, television, brochures, emails,
letters of recommendation, fax, telephone... So that I have many more methods
to advertise for customers before they choice the products and services.
- Major: The internship process in the company has helped me complete the
knowledge that I learned in school, especially the expansion of more
knowledge in the field of culture - society, religion, geography, history,
historical, ...
In summary, this is a job which requires neat appearance, good sense of humor
and clear speaking voice. Especially, the receptionist must patiently investigate, has
specific knowledge and be able to communicate well. Maybe this is reasons which make
me to change my thoughts and bad habits. Hence, I loved this job and it gave me a patient
virtue, professionally working style.
I spent 5 weeks on training in Thai Nguyen Lam Co.,Ltd. I went to the company 3
days a week. And my working time table is dependent on the working time table of the
company.
Office time: - In the morning: from 7:30a.m to 11:30a.m
- In the afternoon: from 13:00p.m to 17:00p.m
I would report my job and the problems of acquisition by myself as follows:
2.2.2 Internship diary
I had an opportunity to meet with the head of guide department of Thai Nguyen Lam
Company, the direct advisor, visiting around the company and socializing with
everybody in the company and I read the documents about the company. Then I typed the
documents and began my probation at the company. The most interested things I found
out that there are many foreign customers like French, British, Australian and I think that
is a wonderfulopportunity for me to practice my English and my communication skills.

2.3 THE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ACQUIRED THROUGH THE
TRAINING COURSE.
2.3.1 Speciality
Through 8 weeks of training process at Thai Nguyen Lam Company, I got a lot
valuable working experience and soft skills. In my opinion, these precious experiences
will help me a lot for my work in future. The following are some of experiences which I
gained during this training course.
Firstly, the training course brought to me the opportunity to use my English
knowledge through communicating with foreign customers and translating many
documents. I recognized that my English is improved so much through internship
process. I learned a lot of vocabulary, information and knowledge in commerce as well as
know how to use translation methods. Secondly, with the guides of my supervisor - Mr.
Hoang and everybody in the company. I learned how to photocopy, receive and send
faxes. I also had chance to practice doing something in the office such as delivering
fliers, sticking and cutting paper. Although it looks simple, but it gave me difficulties

when facing to it. For example, I know how to deliver advertisements effectively while
there are more people than me. Especially I also learned so many important skills in
dealing with customers and working with staffs. Moreover, inspite of short time of
training process, the internship course at the company makes me feel more confident and
patient than before. As a receptionist at the company, I also learned some good
characteristics like attentiveness, initiative, loyalty, maturity, respect for confidentiality
and discretion, a positive attitude and independence.
In conclusion, after this internship, I feel grown-up with experience
incommunication, skills to solve difficulties. These experiences, I always remember and
it will be a precious thing for my job in the future.
2.3.2 Awareness at work
Work environment in the company is not only a simple work environment, but
also it was a real working environment, productivity of each member directly affect the
productivity of work and prestige of a company. Moreover, working styles of each
individual directly reflects in part the work style of an entire people in the company. So
requires each member to have a high awareness about self-discipline, responsibility, and
strictly abide by discipline.
Always work in a crowded environment should keep themselves neat style, clean.
Behave politely, sociable, friendly, enthusiastic with colleagues. Always create a joyful
atmosphere, comfortable for customers.
For work to put the word "responsibility" to the forefront, must complete, rapid
and scientific work with assigned mission.
Should be cautious in every word to ensure the accuracy and must be based on
reliable documentation, minimize errors.
Must be a good manager and creation, organization and arrangements work in a
reasonable manner. First of unwanted situations requiring calm, lucid, deal with
situations in a smart way, scientists and wise.
2.4. ADVANTAGES, DISADVANTAGES AND SOLUTIONS
2.4.1 Advantages
Thai Nguyen Lam Company has a professional working environment, reputation and has
a strong foothold in the commercial sector. Currently, the company is the ideal place of
many customers and organizations and operational unit in commerce and services sector.
So this is an ideal environment to training and it helps me learn a lot of necessary skills
for a translator.
The company is creating favorable conditions for the exchange, learn, and cooperate with
employees in the company and helps me quickly improve about listening skills and the
ability to react quickly in communicating.
With the enthusiastic help of brothers and sisters in the company that I can use effectively
computers, printers, copiers. Besides, the deep care and direction of the director and the
company's management has helped me complete the work assigned.

Dynamic working environment and open of the company has helped me more confident,
more boldly in communication.
I have learned a lot of experience in the field of commerce and working style in office.
Regular contact and work with commercial documents helps me with the ability to
recognize the letters faster and improve translation skills.
Having the opportunity to interact with foreign customers has helped me improve a lot
of listening and speaking skills.
2.4.2 Disadvantages
Besides the favorable side, the fact of the internship is not immune from the difficulties
following:
In the first week of access to jobs, I faced many confused and crestfallen. So, there must
always be guided by staff of the company.
Themselves do not have much experience and speciality in translation work, especially
the specialized commercial vocabulary. So, in the translation process does not avoid the
shortcomings.
Customers in various countries like UK, USA, Australia... So, in the process of
communication I was faced with many difficulties in speaking and listening skills.
2.4.3 Solutions
You should self-train yourself confident demeanor, agility to be able to proactively adapt
to new environment.
When you have questions or about the assigned work, you quickly asked the staff for
inquiries guidance, whereby you can complete the work well and with satisfaction.
You should exchange, make friends with foreigners to improve listening and speaking.
You should learn more information on the website about the organization, how it works
and the specific job, then envisioned and clearer perception of the work will be done.
You should exchange and learn vocabulary more about specialized terminology for easier
translation. Regularly read books and newspapers to supplement knowledge for
ourselves.
2.5 PROPOSALS
Through the internship, I found knowledge of that students acquired is too limited, so the
school should create conditions for the students to expose to more practical environment,
in order to improve their ability to communicate and manipulate knowledge in a
practical way.
Should learn more specialized vocabulary in lessons to help students have more
specialized vocabulary, to enable students to easily get in touch with the specific work.
I think that the time for my internship course is so short. Five weeks is too short for us to
get enough experience in work and skills in working environment. So, I hope that the
time for internship course should be longer. Because commercial English is my major so
I would like to be given more documents to translate and communicate more with foreign
customers. So I hope the company will receive more specialized commerce students and
give them the opportunity to interact and communicate with foreign customers.

I hope the school will introduce us to more companies so that we have more opportunities
to find and choose the internship organization.
CHAPTER III. CONCLUSION
There is a "Study must be accompanied by practice". So, the internship course is a
good opportunity for us to apply the knowledge learned in the real environment to better
adapt to the job and working environment after graduation. Internship time is not long,
but the brothers and sisters in the company has left in my mind emotion.
This internship time is something new for final year students. The knowledge can
only be learned in school, but have rare opportunity to practice. But during practice I
have used it thoroughly.
In the first week of internship time, I have practiced here receiving enthusiastic
support from the director and staffs of company. I was recognized as an official
employees of the company. Everyday, the company staff has spent a lot of time
answering my questions so that I can understand more. Even everyweek and daily I asked
the director of the company to transmit the knowledge about the job and necessary skills
to do better. In particular, the company detailed about plans for my work weekly and the
completion deadline. After a while I will be checked what was learned and what was
done.
Besides the knowledge, skills, accumulated experience from the internship process
will help me a lot with completing the program at school and adapting to the working
environment after graduation. Although, I have many shortcomings, but I will try to make
these shortcomings become valuable experience for themselves in the future. I look
forward to receiving feedback, advice from teacher, and the brothers and sisters of the
company in order that I can improve more.
