PREFACE
Vietnam has great potentials of tourism attractions such as: the typical landscapes and
ecosystems of humid tropical regions, historic depth, oriental cultures and the diversity of 54
ethnic groups. Besides that during the renovation, industrialization and modernization of the
country, tourism was identified as a key economic sector in the strategy of socio-economic
development of the country. It is known as the smokeless industry. Tourism is important for
economic development and raise incomes. Especially, in the integration period, tourism is a
good opportunity to exchange and convergence of tangible and intangible civilizations.
Tourism was formed and developed according to the needs of human life. Today the society is
growing and human life is raised, so tourism demand is also growing.
Tourism is a positive activity of human. People go to travel to discover the new horizons, to
learn the different cultures, especially to relax after stressful working hours. Therefore, there
are many travel companies have launched and constantly evolving in terms of quantity as well
as quality. Saigontourist Travel Service Company Limited is one of them. Over a long period
of operation, the company has not stopped growing and developing, achieved good
performance in business operations and was voted the leading travel companies in Vietnam.
Contributing to the success of the brand include the Saigontourist- Binh Duong Branch. After
the learning and practicing time at the company, with the desire to learn more about outbound
travel activities, I decided to choose the subject “Study about the outbound travel activities
"as the subject that I report in the graduated internship.

Internship for student is extremely important and useful. It helps students to have chance to
contact directly with the working environment, to apply the knowledge learned in practical
work, so that students will have the experience and lessons for themselves. Through 6 weeks
of internship in the Saigontourist, I have learned a lot of expertise knowledge as well as
learned many valuable lessons. I can complete this training is thanks to the help of everyone. I
would like to express sincere thanks to the Board of Directors in Saigontourist Co.Ltd, head
of the Outbound department- Mr. Truong Thoai Tung who accepted me to practice in a
company, so that I had an opportunity to interact with the actual work, to experience and
apply the knowledge learned at school. In addition I would like to say thank you to the
brothers and sisters working at Outbound department assigned work as well as provided
information, documents and helped me a lots during my internship to complete this report. On
the side of school, I would like to thank the school administrators and foreign language
department, created an opportunity for me to fulfill this internship. And I also would like to
say thank you to instructor- Ms Nguyen Thi Phuoc Binh who was enthusiastic guide, answer
all my questions in the last 6 weeks of internship. Because of the short time of internship and
limited understanding, this report cannot be perfect. I wish to get honest feedbacks from the
school and the Saigontourist Company so that I can draw work experience and get more
specialized knowledge.

On 6th September 2011, Saigontourist Travel Service Company Limited (an affiliate of
Saigontourist Holding Company) officially launched Saigontourist Binh Duong branch in the
central of Binh Duong Province. Saigontourist Binh Duong is the place where directly
provides an advice to customers in domestic tour, outbound tour, airline tickets, study abroad,
export of labor ... ,concurrently support related services to customers, thereby helping
customers save significant travel time to move to Ho Chi Minh City. The operation of
Saigontourist Binh Duong Branch is a part of Saigontourist strategy about operating system
development - business travel services, expand the market exploitation and continue to
develop the Saigontourist Travel Service brand in travel market. Saigontourist Binh Duong
readied internal forces to catch up with the development opportunities, concurrently
promoting business development strategies associated with the development and exploitation
of power in the Saigontourist system. It can also enhance the competitiveness and capabilities
of international economic integration.

1.3.2 The mission of the positions in the company
Board of Directors: They give guidelines on business operations and build the
strategic object. They also directly manage the operation of branch.
Administration and Personnel Division: advising the Board of Directors for the
personnel organization, labor, wages and administrative governance.
Accounting department: in charge of the entire accounting work, statistics.
Domestic travel: responsible to take care of domestic tourists to visit and relax at
destinations in the country.
Outbound travel: take care of domestic tourists to visit and take a rest at foreign
country.

1.5 Core business
1.5.1 Outbound Travel
Saigontourist pays special attentions to developing products that approach worldwide cultures
and civilizations.
Based on the partnership with many prestigious travel operators worldwide and the
comprehensive market-demand understanding, Saigontourist always update outbound tours in
conformity with the industry seasons, and customers’ needs, incomes and ages, including
leisure tours, business tours, MICE tours, relatives-visiting tours, etc.
These products have been operated as both package and private tours for as also been
developing regular and private outbound tours for both individual travelers and travel groups
of the Vietnamese, over-sea Vietnamese and foreigners living in Vietnam, with a diversity of
such destinations as ASEAN countries, Hong Kong, China, Belgium, Germany, France,
Canada, Italia, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Spain, Japan, South Korea, etc.
Moreover, many enterprises, multi-national corporations, domestic organizations, as well as

Based on the experiences in building new product brands, IKO Travel is developed to meet
the rising demand to travel “adequately, effectively, and budget-saving” of the market.
1.5.5 Domestic and International Air ticketing
Being recognized as one of the first air ticket agencies in Binh Duong Province, up to now,
Saigontourist Travel Service has been operating as an official air ticket agency for most of
Asian airlines (All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, China Southern Airlines,
Eva Air, Garuda Airlines, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Singapore Airlines,
SiemReap Airways, Shanghai Airlines, Thai airways, Vietnam Airlines, Vasco, Japan

After 5 years of operation, STB has achieved remarkable achievement, contributing
greatly to the development of the company.
Binh Duong branch has achieved the title of "Excellent Labor Collective" in 2015.All
the departments get grade A during the last voting of emulation. There are 8 persons
getting the award “Emulation Fighter at Grassroots-level” and 16 individuals awarded
the title of “Advanced labor”.
