LO3 Summary Report

Who is the selected company?
The selected company is Bandai Namco. They are a games company who (Believe
it or not) work on games. They have a wide select of famous games in their rights
from Dark souls to Pac-man. They have worked on a variety of games that vary in
age ranges from an 18+ (Dark souls) to 3+ (F1) then to 12+ (Dragonball z). A bit of
background information Bandai Namco was originally two separate companies
you teamed up they was (Namco Hometek & Bandai Games).
What do they make/Produce/Do?
Bandai namco mainly work on developing or helping out in game designs they
mainly work with the same companies for their selected games for example all the
DBZ games are mostly made by (Bandai Namco, Dimps, Spike) thus showing that
they all, work together in the game making business. The main company who
make the majority or the games are Spike with Toei Animation helping with the
Voices. Bandai Namco basically work on games. They rarely do anything else.
What do people think of their current brandings?
After conducting a focus group in front of people who would be the target
demographic i got a mixed response some people thought “It is unique” others
had said “It looks boring” of course i will take in all the feedback if someone says
the current logo looks “Boring” i will do my best to change their opinion whilst also
trying to keep the current demographic happy at the same time. When i showed
them the old logo there was a comment “The namco logo looks like a better font”
Which i will take into consideration so i will experiment with the colour and font of
the ‘Bandai Namco’ in the middle.
How will this research help with re-branding?
The research i have gathered will help rebrand the company because i can find out
by my target demographic what colours and text size would relate to them and
would make the logo more appealing to the target audience for example when i
asked about the logo a few people mentioned that the logo was colourful and that
the colours blend well together. This research will help since i have done a focus
group on the company's demographic since this means i asked people who would
be around 15-24 ofcourse the psychographic of the company would be anyone
who enjoyed games and the socioeconomic could be any one of the groups from
E-A.
Are you thinking or partial or full re-branding|?
I am thinking of a partial re-branding i was going to keep the colour scheme put
just play around with the shapes and the font maybe experiment with it. I want to
keep the colour scheme because that is what people would relate to the company.
The features i will be playing with is the shape of the logo and the place and size
of the text in the logo. The logo will be good fun to play around with and experient
and sizes and images.
Has to target audience changed through the re
branding?
No the target audience will stay the same because the main audience will still be
around the 15+ mark since it will still be for a game company all i'm trying to
achieve is it make the logo look visually better. I think the colours are perfect how
they are but i will still experiment with the colours but it will most likely stay the
same since they already have 5 different colours in use and in my own opinion and
a few other people agree that the logo is good.
How will you try to successfully interpolate the
appropriate audience in your work?
I will try to successfully interpolate the feedback into my work by following what
people have said whether they enjoyed the colours or font I will take all into
consideration and then change the logo accordingly. If people said that the colour
is a bit too much but then someone else said it is unique the way I can interpolate
that is by having a play about with the shape and colours by still trying to keep the
end product unique. The feedback I received will help me make the logo more
appealing to the target demographic.
