2. Stage 1 Image I chose this image for my front cover because I believed the model was placed in a striking pose and the way her hands are placed directs the audiences gaze to her face, especially the eyes and star on her cheek. In this image, the gloves, waist coat and hat in combination with the sparkly top and star on the cheek connote a rock and roll edge to the magazine which is what I am aiming to achieve.
3. Stage 2 new mast head The layout of my new front cover needed to fit the conventions of a music magazine more closely. I looked at many mast heads and found that Q magazines was the most striking. Therefore, using the Amplifier I had used in my previous mast head, I shortened my magazines name to AMP and placed it inside my amplifier, thus creating a striking and effective masthead for my magazine.
4. Stage 3 Colour scheme and background For the colour scheme of my magazine i stuck to my original colours of purple, black, white and yellow. For the background however I struggled to find a suitable colour so I used a faded colour of the purple I was using in a block colour for the background which fades to a dark grey nearer the bottom of the page. I then cut out my model to fit into the background. The model therefore stands out from the background and I believe the colour is complimentary to the rest of the page. I kept the same cover lines from my original front cover.
