2. IMAGES FOR MY MAGAZINE
I am going to use this image for my front
cover as it is a medium close up and I think it
provides a good representation of the
magazine. The photo is clear and I like the
way the costume and makeup looks - she
looks natural and relaxed in the photo. I also
like that the guitar is just visible in the image
as it hints as to what she does. It will be a
good photo for the front cover as I can
arrange the sell lines around her so that they
fit in neatly. I am going to edit the image on
Photoshop to try and make it look more
professional – for example I am going to
airbrush some of her hair so it looks more in
place and I am going to try to make the hair
bobble on her wrist like a bracelet.
I took this image with a Canon camera in
front of a white wall in the dining room in my
house. The images look more professional
when against a white background as it is
more similar to real magazine photo shoots. I
dressed her in a white shirt and she wore red
lipstick in keeping with my colour scheme.
The image was taken in November 2014.
3. IMAGES FOR MY MAGAZINE
I am going to use this image on my contents
page to promote the article. It will not be the
only photo on my contents page – I am also
going to use a photo of a different music
artist, which will show that there is also an
article on them within the magazine. It will
also show I have done more than one photo
shoot with more than one artist for the
magazine. I like this image because it is a
close up and provides a different perspective
of the model. It is also good quality so I won't
need to do much editing to it, however I will
use Photoshop to try to improve its
appearance. The space around the model
means I can put the page number and
possibly a quote from the interview within the
image, which will draw the reader in and
make it easy for them to find the page.
I took this image with a Canon camera in
front of a white wall in the dining room of my
house. She is wearing the same costume and
make up as before – as this is not a fashion
magazine there is no need for her to change
her appearance. The image was taken in
November 2014.
4. IMAGES FOR MY MAGAZINE
This is the image I am going to use for my
double page spread. I think the photo looks
natural rather than posed which makes the
fact she is a musician more credible. She
looks like she is playing the guitar and she is
smiling which further backs up that she is
comfortable and enjoying herself. I am going
to arrange the article so that the article title is
in the left hand corner next to her head and
the interview content is displayed in the white
space on the right hand side, with a pull quote
going along the bottom underneath her guitar.
I am going to edit the image using Photoshop
so that the nail in the wall is not visible and
also make general touch ups to the image.

5. IMAGES FOR MY MAGAZINE
I am going to use this image on my contents
page. This is an image I took originally for
my preliminary task. I am going to use it to
link to an article in which the singer of a band
takes the magazine back to where the band
formed and started writing music – in this
case their school. I like the image because I
think it looks natural and there is nice natural
light. I am going to edit the image on
Photoshop so that it looks more professional.
This photo was taken outside of my college
campus in September 2014 on my iPhone’s
camera.
