2. Synopsis
Eat The Rich’s audience will be for the younger generation of 16-25, this is because of ‘new money’
and the film is all about how the wealthy do not always win. Mostly teenagers that class themselves as
entrepreneurs as they will be able to relate to the main character, Alfred. People in this age range who
are not used to the rich lifestyle may also be interested as they would like to have an insight into the
‘rich life’ but they will also be able to relate to Aaron, the poor character and may feel like they have
been treated in the same way. The target audience will also be competent on social media platforms
as this is where Eat The Rich will be mainly advertised.
3. Social Class (JINCARS)
Below is a list of the social economic groupings within the UK. This will be useful information for
advertising Eat The Rich, as this is exactly what the film is tackling.
Social Grade Social Status Occupation
A upper middle High Managerial
B middle Low Managerial
C1 lower middle Supervisory
C2 skilled working Skilled manual
D working Unskilled manual
E those at lowest State pension/non
earner
Looking at where the target
audience would come from is
(B), Middle class as (A) Upper
class, I believe would not watch
an low budget indie film.
Therefore they would come
from Grade B and D as this
group is where Aaron alike
people would be.
4. Certification
Eat The Rich will be certification 15 due to the fact that it includes the following:
- Violence (flight scene)
- Strong language (opening scene, Alfred calls Aaron ‘A Pleb’ because of what has currently been in
the news, a government minister called one of the guards this).
- Mistreatment for others (Alfred to his wife)
Other factors that could contribute to a being a 15 +, but are not necessarily included in Eat The Rich
are:
- Intercourse or portraits of it
- Nudity
- Violence (verbal or physical)
- Misuse of illegal substances
- Alcohol abuse
- Strong language (F***)
