Question 7-
1. Looking back at your preliminary task, (college magazine) what do you feel
you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
My digital photography has definitely improved from when I had created my college
magazine as my preliminary task. I noticed that looking at all the photos I had taken
for my music magazine, I had focused more on using the rule of thirds and I had
realised and learnt better ways to place my photos in order for them to look more
professional and appealing to an audience. The effects and the way I edit the photos
I have taken have also improved by using brightness, contract and changing the
sharpness a lot better. By using these tools on Photoshop, all of my photos look
immediately better than the old ones I had originally taken. As well, the design and
layout looks more satisfying, as I have made it easier to place text on my cover page
by the composition of my main image. Although I used Photoshop from previous
years in high school, my skills have improved even from them and from my
preliminary task to my full product now. Even on my magazine, the text looks more
professional, as the college magazine looked more targeted at a much younger age
group through the colours and text styles used, however this magazine appeals to
much older and a wider range.
