1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND RESEARCH
In the current COVID-19 pandemic, many companies and businesses are forced to shut
down operations due to the spread of the viruses. Although there is news as to whether
this is the right move or not there is no denying the fact that there are implications which
come with these actions. (Steve, 2020). Of course, this MCO (Movement Control Order)
is viewed from many different perspectives so it is more of a subjective matter as there
are no rights or wrongs here. This research will be based more towards the
efficiency of working from home as compared to an office environment. How it
would affect the efficiency of work from home as compared to the latter? Is it a good
idea to work from home and is it safer or will it just bring down the entire workforce?
These are questions typically raised when it comes to one mind when working from
home.
Home is seen as a safe place to most or even some leisure activities (Pelley L., 2020).
But Malaysian have never really dive into how it is like to work from home (Mokhtar, N.
H., 2020). Working Away from an office where all colleagues are and all the documents
are placed at. Not only that, what about the working mood that goes on behind closed
doors. Although we all know what it is like to work when your boss is not breathing down
your throat all the time in office.
A 2011 study shows that workers from home experienced 25% less stress as opposed
to the latter (Monster, 2020). Companies such as Twitter have announced their
employees to work from home forever (Kantrowitz A., 2020). Job scope that requires
long hours to come up with a product or work that could include to work on site
especially architects, are they better to work at home where they are cut out of
distraction or even programmers and et cetera. Everyone is different when it comes to a
company’s work policy. Hence it is the topic for this discussion.
2
1.2 RESEARCH PROBLEM AND RESEARCH QUESTION
The experience of working from home raises a lot of questions when it comes to the
corporate world. But it is inevitable for example in today’s pandemic. Working is a whole
different ball game when it is done at home. One size does not fit all and that is definitely
the case when it comes to working from home. This is pretty much a very subjective
question and no real answer can actually solve the question that is working from home
actually better? (Ciciora P., 2018)
Firstly, can the experience of working from home actually improve efficiency more than in
the office? While most may prefer working from home, the thing that most do not take into
consideration is the distraction (Connley C., 2020). Distraction in an office such as people
ringing the door, running errands while rushing on tasks. Some may say they can get more
work done but what if they see a bed and just lay there for a few ‘minutes’. These are
aspects that we should consider and dive into more if we are to truly understand what
efficiency working from home actually is like.
Technology has been used widely throughout the years and has spiked 40% in the last few
months due to the current pandemic.(Sam A.,C&Layal May, 2020). Now although it has
been used a lot does not mean that it has been fully utilized. Automated work forces are
actually quite an impressive innovation but what happens when you put in against years
and years of hands on experience? Do they clash? Go hand in hand? Or does just one
overshadow the other?
On the other hand, taking consideration into the physical workspace’s quality of the
environment of the workspace at home is also important as it may affect the working style
and working habits. Office employees spend a lot of their time inside an office, where the
physical environments influence their well-being and directly influence their work
performance and productivity. Air quality, lighting and noise conditions of the immediate
environment affect the work concentration and productivity. As compared to work from
home, these aspects may vary from working in a typical office. Workspace’s environment is
the most critical factor for the employees to perform. The physical aspects of a workplace
environment have a direct impact on the employees' productivity, performance, health and
safety, comfort, concentration, job satisfaction, and morale.( IspatGuru. 2020).
In conclusion, the main concern and the main research question from here is that, how is
the impact of environment quality at home on the experience of working from home? While
this question is supported by how the experience of work from home and how is the
environment quality of work space at home by the audiences.
3
1.3 JUSTIFICATION FOR THE RESEARCH
The objective of the research is to examine the subject of 'is it better to be working from
home in this pandemic situation’. COVID 19 has taken the world by storm, challenging
the organised patterns of our society. Concerning the working sector, the obvious
solution was to work from home but would it be continually effective?
Our research is going to be carried out using online surveys, so that we can obtain an
amount of people’s opinions (which will be mentioned in 3.0 Methodology and
Method), from which we would be able to analyse and process how our society is
actually coping with working from home and how effective it can be based on
their home environment.
This will allow us to collect accurate feedback. Data collected and analysed will
supplement our research in determining if it is effective to be working from home during
the pandemic. The aim of this research is to extract proper information concerning our
research issue in order to apply it to our current situation, which will benefit people
working from home. Working schedules may be adapted accordingly to the research
data obtained and analysed, so as to create an optimum working environment for our
world’s present conditions.
4
1.4 METHODOLOGY AND METHODS
A cross-sectional study design will be carried out online in view of COVID-19 outbreak.
The method of online survey is chosen for data collection in the report. It is done
according to the current situation we are in which is the time that we are practicing
social distancing.
Questionnaires will be done by using Google Forms: Online survey. It is only
available for a particular group of people (office workers), where questions should be
spreaded by using the Snowball Method. A comparative internet-based questionnaire
design will be used. The self-administered questionnaires will be contained with
demographic details, occupation, public’s experiences on Work From Home,
environment quality of Work From Home and the preferences to solve the
problems related to the public's working home environment.
These questionnaires will help us to collect data that we needed regarding how Work
From Home influences working experience and lifestyle. The questionnaires will be
opened to the public on 3 June 2020 to 7 June 2020. (Refer to sample estimation detail
in section 3.0 Methodology and Methods). The detailed analysis will be presented in
section 4.0 Analysis of Data for the data analysis collection.
5
1.5 LIMITATIONS AND DELIMITATION
Due to the pandemic COVID-19, everyone is being forced to practice social distancing
in which people have to work without any human physical interactions. Therefore, we
are to do research that is related to home designed space or the home environment of
the working space as this affects the effectiveness for people to work from home.
Because of COVID-19, it has created a revolutionary way for people to Work From
Home. From there, people will realize the space they need to have at home and
questioning that is a proper working space affects work efficiency? Is it better than the
office? It had brought a new requirement for architects and interior designers on how we
should tackle the issue of space raised during the pandemic.
The research will carry out on an online survey which is the occupation
applicable for work from home. This will be the limit to our study.
As for delimitation, we need samples (people) that are working from home only,
especially people who were working in an office setting before the Movement
Control Order. Besides, the people are able to select only one most prominent option
in our questionnaire.

2.0 RESEARCH ISSUES
Ever since the outbreak of COVID-19, every work that requires the use of manpower is
starting to slow down. It has caused a lot of problems where any job involved interaction
is a high-risk job. The COVID-19 outbreak initiated the idea of Work From Home. (Mola
R., 2020) A topic that is worth discussing and to be further reviewed by all the people
around the world. From the chosen articles, Work From Home has brought health safety
to the public and individual, which will also contribute to decrease the widespread of
COVID-19. (Borneo Post Online, 2020) Turning one’s home into a concept working
lifestyle does bring benefits to individual freedom, productivity and flexibility. But it also
has its own downfall but the beneficial have overweight it. (Stieg C., 2020)
Work From Home, it is an obvious situation that caused a sudden change of lifestyle
and working environment. It can either be a stressful life or a happier situation.
Therefore, some of the people are not able to work from home since there are
distractions in the house, but this is not true for those who are able to work from home
and their life turns to be happier than usual because they able to have interaction with
the things they enjoy and to have individual adjust from their working environment to
match their preferences. (Stieg C., 2020)
Environment, to be more specific, house environment plays an important role for
people to either focus on their work or get distracted by things around them at
home. Factors including quality of the environment (light, air, view, et cetera) and
quality of the space (size, colour, layout, et cetera) turned to be the main focus for
people to work and have the mood to work. (Choudhury, Larson, Foroughi, 2019)
By further analyzing this situation, it presents how much work can be done by a person
depending on the environment and the location of that person with the distractions
available around him or her at home. The mood of the place is also presenting itself to
the workers either if it is a working environment for them. The environment always plays
an important part to create a mindset of what a person should do in that particular
environment. (Choudhury et al., 2019) This is the most interesting part as it involves
designers’ thoughts about this situation, as work from home is not a problem, but the
problem is the home environment that affects the workers. (MindTools, 2020)
Work From Home is not always standing itself at the negative side but it has its
advantages. (Papandrea D., 2020) First, it is able to stop the interruptions that were
made by office tasks that might be able to distract the workers. These may be one of
the reasons to convince the workers that they can actually be more productive than in
the office. (Papandrea D., 2020) Besides, it is possible to achieve the work-life balance
since people are working at home. (Crosbie, Moore, 2004) Most of the people will be
8
having a good time after the working hours as people don’t have to get trapped in the
transport. At least, not wasting any of the time to get back home to do whatever they
wanted to do.
As a conclusion, working from home is not a bad thing for people since it is an
essential thing to be done as to keep on going at this period of time. Maybe it is the
starting to promote the culture of working from home to everyone in this world since
working from home actually existed around 1980. (Crosbie, Moore, 2004) For people’s
safety, for the better future, it provides a better way to solve the world’s economic crisis,
besides producing more opportunity for the people to work from home instead of taking
the risk to work out there during the disease outbreak season. (Lufkin B., 2020)

3.0 METHODOLOGY AND METHOD
Methodology
The purpose of this methodology used in this research is to help the public to gain
awareness of MCO Phases with implementing alternative choices as home
working would be effective over working from office. The research carried out from
this topic also, provides the necessity to enhance the awareness of the pandemic
situation and how working from home can mitigate this issue
(Tony.Anscombe,2020). The beginning of this approach can be analyzed by the current
environment of this pandemic globally and nationally. By having research from news
and online articles can help to understand more about this pandemic issue (Nick
Routley, 2020), what are the proper methods to approach and what type of survey can
be done to showcase working from home can be more efficient and beneficial than
office or vice versa. While, methodology can be divided into two research methods and
how data is collected and put into analysis.
Methods
In research methods, the framework is divided into two components, which one is to do
research field study. Using tools such as computers and browsers, as the purpose of
this research is to identify the key factor of working from home, is an essential activity at
this period of pandemic or working from office still provides the same experience
(Holly.R, 2015). While, the nature of this research can provide various factual statistical
figures and solutions from expertise that can be given locally or internationally. The
approach from this research is supported by online articles, pdf reports, news and
professional websites.
In the second framework from this research it will be using online questionnaires,
which snowball sampling methods (Goodman,1961,p.148-170) are used to support and
analyze public opinion and thoughts on working from home can contribute to more
benefit than working from office. The sampling method is followed by a primary data
resource, which will be targeted and distributed to families members, friends and
relatives then the sampling technique continues to distribute from the main resource to
other participants. The sample size will go on for several periods of time till we have
enough data to conclude as a result and help us to understand and study the objective
of this research. The targeted sampling size needed is 97 and accurately obtained from
the verified resource which is projected under the application input of population with
31530000 (“The Global Economy”, 2020) that reliably obtained from a statistic recorded
population resource then followed by confidence level 95% and margin error of 10%.
The values and figures are generated and retrieved from this
(https://www.surveymonkey.com/mp/sample-size-calculator/).
10
4.0 ANALYSIS OF DATA
The survey was conducted between 3 June 2020 to 7 June 2020 using Google Forms
and was promoted through snowball method as mentioned in section 1.4 Methodology
and Method. The survey concluded at 6pm on 7 June 2020 with a sample of 105 people
out of approximately 250 people which constitutes 42% of respondents to answer the
questions given.
The results of the survey is intended to analyze public opinions on working from home
can contribute to more benefit than working from office with the structure of this chapter
as follows:
1. Demographic Information to provide the background information and the current
occupation of the respondents who work from home,
2. Experiences of working from home for the respondents,
3. The environment quality of working at home, and
4. The proposition and approaches to show if the respondents are keen to work
from home in the future and what are their possible solutions to solve the issues
resulting from work from home.

5.0 CONCLUSION & IMPLICATIONS
In conclusion, this research investigated a partial group of people who are able to work
from home. Primary data were collected by distributing online questionnaires to 105 of
secondary sector, tertiary sectors and quaternary sector occupations. The purpose of
this study is to investigate their preference on how the environment impacts home
experience of working from home.
The whole research has proven that during this pandemic majority of people actually
enjoy the experience of working from home. They are more productive in the home
working environment when compared to an office environment where they are able to
do their work according to their schedule and the worker has felt happier at home even
though most of them agree that they are easily distracted at home. As well as they
agreed that working from home has more time spent with loved ones and more free
time to do work from home.
The environment quality will affect the work from home experience as well. The
research showed that the majority of people are quite satisfied with their working space
at home. The environment will affect their working mood. Such as, proper furniture for
work, a proper space with good air circulation and good lighting with a window views
towards nature will help to build up good energy for the work space. Geen environment
has become an essential for home. Most of the people do agree having all that quality
of a work space will affect the productivity of work ,but most of them are still comfortable
where they are now even though some qualities that they did not have at home.
As a result, work from home can be good as well as working at the office which is
shown from the analysis that the percentage of people agree working at home is
actually better than working in the office. It can be seen that people need a clean and
proper working space as well as the outdoor space where they are very much needed
to help release stress from time to time. It helps people to have a better mood as well as
it also helps people to realize what they need in the environment they live in.
However, these findings are true only for the 105 people who answered the questions
who are working from home, but the result of this study indicates that work from home
has had a positive impact on most people and people actually would like to continue
working from home after MCO (Movement Control Order) has ended. The research has
proven to be true that work from home gave individual freedom, productivity, flexibility
and realised the environment plays a big role in it.

  • 3. 1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND RESEARCH In the current COVID-19 pandemic, many companies and businesses are forced to shut down operations due to the spread of the viruses. Although there is news as to whether this is the right move or not there is no denying the fact that there are implications which come with these actions. (Steve, 2020). Of course, this MCO (Movement Control Order) is viewed from many different perspectives so it is more of a subjective matter as there are no rights or wrongs here. This research will be based more towards the efficiency of working from home as compared to an office environment. How it would affect the efficiency of work from home as compared to the latter? Is it a good idea to work from home and is it safer or will it just bring down the entire workforce? These are questions typically raised when it comes to one mind when working from home. Home is seen as a safe place to most or even some leisure activities (Pelley L., 2020). But Malaysian have never really dive into how it is like to work from home (Mokhtar, N. H., 2020). Working Away from an office where all colleagues are and all the documents are placed at. Not only that, what about the working mood that goes on behind closed doors. Although we all know what it is like to work when your boss is not breathing down your throat all the time in office. A 2011 study shows that workers from home experienced 25% less stress as opposed to the latter (Monster, 2020). Companies such as Twitter have announced their employees to work from home forever (Kantrowitz A., 2020). Job scope that requires long hours to come up with a product or work that could include to work on site especially architects, are they better to work at home where they are cut out of distraction or even programmers and et cetera. Everyone is different when it comes to a company’s work policy. Hence it is the topic for this discussion. 2
  • 4. 1.2 RESEARCH PROBLEM AND RESEARCH QUESTION The experience of working from home raises a lot of questions when it comes to the corporate world. But it is inevitable for example in today’s pandemic. Working is a whole different ball game when it is done at home. One size does not fit all and that is definitely the case when it comes to working from home. This is pretty much a very subjective question and no real answer can actually solve the question that is working from home actually better? (Ciciora P., 2018) Firstly, can the experience of working from home actually improve efficiency more than in the office? While most may prefer working from home, the thing that most do not take into consideration is the distraction (Connley C., 2020). Distraction in an office such as people ringing the door, running errands while rushing on tasks. Some may say they can get more work done but what if they see a bed and just lay there for a few ‘minutes’. These are aspects that we should consider and dive into more if we are to truly understand what efficiency working from home actually is like. Technology has been used widely throughout the years and has spiked 40% in the last few months due to the current pandemic.(Sam A.,C&Layal May, 2020). Now although it has been used a lot does not mean that it has been fully utilized. Automated work forces are actually quite an impressive innovation but what happens when you put in against years and years of hands on experience? Do they clash? Go hand in hand? Or does just one overshadow the other? On the other hand, taking consideration into the physical workspace’s quality of the environment of the workspace at home is also important as it may affect the working style and working habits. Office employees spend a lot of their time inside an office, where the physical environments influence their well-being and directly influence their work performance and productivity. Air quality, lighting and noise conditions of the immediate environment affect the work concentration and productivity. As compared to work from home, these aspects may vary from working in a typical office. Workspace’s environment is the most critical factor for the employees to perform. The physical aspects of a workplace environment have a direct impact on the employees' productivity, performance, health and safety, comfort, concentration, job satisfaction, and morale.( IspatGuru. 2020). In conclusion, the main concern and the main research question from here is that, how is the impact of environment quality at home on the experience of working from home? While this question is supported by how the experience of work from home and how is the environment quality of work space at home by the audiences. 3
  • 5. 1.3 JUSTIFICATION FOR THE RESEARCH The objective of the research is to examine the subject of 'is it better to be working from home in this pandemic situation’. COVID 19 has taken the world by storm, challenging the organised patterns of our society. Concerning the working sector, the obvious solution was to work from home but would it be continually effective? Our research is going to be carried out using online surveys, so that we can obtain an amount of people’s opinions (which will be mentioned in 3.0 Methodology and Method), from which we would be able to analyse and process how our society is actually coping with working from home and how effective it can be based on their home environment. This will allow us to collect accurate feedback. Data collected and analysed will supplement our research in determining if it is effective to be working from home during the pandemic. The aim of this research is to extract proper information concerning our research issue in order to apply it to our current situation, which will benefit people working from home. Working schedules may be adapted accordingly to the research data obtained and analysed, so as to create an optimum working environment for our world’s present conditions. 4
  • 6. 1.4 METHODOLOGY AND METHODS A cross-sectional study design will be carried out online in view of COVID-19 outbreak. The method of online survey is chosen for data collection in the report. It is done according to the current situation we are in which is the time that we are practicing social distancing. Questionnaires will be done by using Google Forms: Online survey. It is only available for a particular group of people (office workers), where questions should be spreaded by using the Snowball Method. A comparative internet-based questionnaire design will be used. The self-administered questionnaires will be contained with demographic details, occupation, public’s experiences on Work From Home, environment quality of Work From Home and the preferences to solve the problems related to the public's working home environment. These questionnaires will help us to collect data that we needed regarding how Work From Home influences working experience and lifestyle. The questionnaires will be opened to the public on 3 June 2020 to 7 June 2020. (Refer to sample estimation detail in section 3.0 Methodology and Methods). The detailed analysis will be presented in section 4.0 Analysis of Data for the data analysis collection. 5
  • 7. 1.5 LIMITATIONS AND DELIMITATION Due to the pandemic COVID-19, everyone is being forced to practice social distancing in which people have to work without any human physical interactions. Therefore, we are to do research that is related to home designed space or the home environment of the working space as this affects the effectiveness for people to work from home. Because of COVID-19, it has created a revolutionary way for people to Work From Home. From there, people will realize the space they need to have at home and questioning that is a proper working space affects work efficiency? Is it better than the office? It had brought a new requirement for architects and interior designers on how we should tackle the issue of space raised during the pandemic. The research will carry out on an online survey which is the occupation applicable for work from home. This will be the limit to our study. As for delimitation, we need samples (people) that are working from home only, especially people who were working in an office setting before the Movement Control Order. Besides, the people are able to select only one most prominent option in our questionnaire. 6
  • 8. 1.6 OUTLINE OF THE REPORT Report breakdown: 1. Introduction gives an overview of what the report is about and how the research is being carried out. It includes justification for the research and its limitations and delimitations. 2. Research issues is based on what each of our team members have read and analysed in terms of news articles, papers, other reports based on our research theme 3. Analysis of data compiles the information obtained from surveys and categorised in different sections related to the research objective. The data is organised using charts and observations are written down. i) Demographic Information ii) Experiences of working from home iii) Environment quality of working at home iv) Suggested solutions & Conclusion 5. Conclusion and Implications give a definite response of the outcomes of the research with congruent explanation 7
  • 9. 2.0 RESEARCH ISSUES Ever since the outbreak of COVID-19, every work that requires the use of manpower is starting to slow down. It has caused a lot of problems where any job involved interaction is a high-risk job. The COVID-19 outbreak initiated the idea of Work From Home. (Mola R., 2020) A topic that is worth discussing and to be further reviewed by all the people around the world. From the chosen articles, Work From Home has brought health safety to the public and individual, which will also contribute to decrease the widespread of COVID-19. (Borneo Post Online, 2020) Turning one’s home into a concept working lifestyle does bring benefits to individual freedom, productivity and flexibility. But it also has its own downfall but the beneficial have overweight it. (Stieg C., 2020) Work From Home, it is an obvious situation that caused a sudden change of lifestyle and working environment. It can either be a stressful life or a happier situation. Therefore, some of the people are not able to work from home since there are distractions in the house, but this is not true for those who are able to work from home and their life turns to be happier than usual because they able to have interaction with the things they enjoy and to have individual adjust from their working environment to match their preferences. (Stieg C., 2020) Environment, to be more specific, house environment plays an important role for people to either focus on their work or get distracted by things around them at home. Factors including quality of the environment (light, air, view, et cetera) and quality of the space (size, colour, layout, et cetera) turned to be the main focus for people to work and have the mood to work. (Choudhury, Larson, Foroughi, 2019) By further analyzing this situation, it presents how much work can be done by a person depending on the environment and the location of that person with the distractions available around him or her at home. The mood of the place is also presenting itself to the workers either if it is a working environment for them. The environment always plays an important part to create a mindset of what a person should do in that particular environment. (Choudhury et al., 2019) This is the most interesting part as it involves designers’ thoughts about this situation, as work from home is not a problem, but the problem is the home environment that affects the workers. (MindTools, 2020) Work From Home is not always standing itself at the negative side but it has its advantages. (Papandrea D., 2020) First, it is able to stop the interruptions that were made by office tasks that might be able to distract the workers. These may be one of the reasons to convince the workers that they can actually be more productive than in the office. (Papandrea D., 2020) Besides, it is possible to achieve the work-life balance since people are working at home. (Crosbie, Moore, 2004) Most of the people will be 8
  • 10. having a good time after the working hours as people don’t have to get trapped in the transport. At least, not wasting any of the time to get back home to do whatever they wanted to do. As a conclusion, working from home is not a bad thing for people since it is an essential thing to be done as to keep on going at this period of time. Maybe it is the starting to promote the culture of working from home to everyone in this world since working from home actually existed around 1980. (Crosbie, Moore, 2004) For people’s safety, for the better future, it provides a better way to solve the world’s economic crisis, besides producing more opportunity for the people to work from home instead of taking the risk to work out there during the disease outbreak season. (Lufkin B., 2020) 9
  • 11. 3.0 METHODOLOGY AND METHOD Methodology The purpose of this methodology used in this research is to help the public to gain awareness of MCO Phases with implementing alternative choices as home working would be effective over working from office. The research carried out from this topic also, provides the necessity to enhance the awareness of the pandemic situation and how working from home can mitigate this issue (Tony.Anscombe,2020). The beginning of this approach can be analyzed by the current environment of this pandemic globally and nationally. By having research from news and online articles can help to understand more about this pandemic issue (Nick Routley, 2020), what are the proper methods to approach and what type of survey can be done to showcase working from home can be more efficient and beneficial than office or vice versa. While, methodology can be divided into two research methods and how data is collected and put into analysis. Methods In research methods, the framework is divided into two components, which one is to do research field study. Using tools such as computers and browsers, as the purpose of this research is to identify the key factor of working from home, is an essential activity at this period of pandemic or working from office still provides the same experience (Holly.R, 2015). While, the nature of this research can provide various factual statistical figures and solutions from expertise that can be given locally or internationally. The approach from this research is supported by online articles, pdf reports, news and professional websites. In the second framework from this research it will be using online questionnaires, which snowball sampling methods (Goodman,1961,p.148-170) are used to support and analyze public opinion and thoughts on working from home can contribute to more benefit than working from office. The sampling method is followed by a primary data resource, which will be targeted and distributed to families members, friends and relatives then the sampling technique continues to distribute from the main resource to other participants. The sample size will go on for several periods of time till we have enough data to conclude as a result and help us to understand and study the objective of this research. The targeted sampling size needed is 97 and accurately obtained from the verified resource which is projected under the application input of population with 31530000 (“The Global Economy”, 2020) that reliably obtained from a statistic recorded population resource then followed by confidence level 95% and margin error of 10%. The values and figures are generated and retrieved from this (https://www.surveymonkey.com/mp/sample-size-calculator/). 10
  • 12. 4.0 ANALYSIS OF DATA The survey was conducted between 3 June 2020 to 7 June 2020 using Google Forms and was promoted through snowball method as mentioned in section 1.4 Methodology and Method. The survey concluded at 6pm on 7 June 2020 with a sample of 105 people out of approximately 250 people which constitutes 42% of respondents to answer the questions given. The results of the survey is intended to analyze public opinions on working from home can contribute to more benefit than working from office with the structure of this chapter as follows: 1. Demographic Information to provide the background information and the current occupation of the respondents who work from home, 2. Experiences of working from home for the respondents, 3. The environment quality of working at home, and 4. The proposition and approaches to show if the respondents are keen to work from home in the future and what are their possible solutions to solve the issues resulting from work from home. 11

  • 21. 5.0 CONCLUSION & IMPLICATIONS In conclusion, this research investigated a partial group of people who are able to work from home. Primary data were collected by distributing online questionnaires to 105 of secondary sector, tertiary sectors and quaternary sector occupations. The purpose of this study is to investigate their preference on how the environment impacts home experience of working from home. The whole research has proven that during this pandemic majority of people actually enjoy the experience of working from home. They are more productive in the home working environment when compared to an office environment where they are able to do their work according to their schedule and the worker has felt happier at home even though most of them agree that they are easily distracted at home. As well as they agreed that working from home has more time spent with loved ones and more free time to do work from home. The environment quality will affect the work from home experience as well. The research showed that the majority of people are quite satisfied with their working space at home. The environment will affect their working mood. Such as, proper furniture for work, a proper space with good air circulation and good lighting with a window views towards nature will help to build up good energy for the work space. Geen environment has become an essential for home. Most of the people do agree having all that quality of a work space will affect the productivity of work ,but most of them are still comfortable where they are now even though some qualities that they did not have at home. As a result, work from home can be good as well as working at the office which is shown from the analysis that the percentage of people agree working at home is actually better than working in the office. It can be seen that people need a clean and proper working space as well as the outdoor space where they are very much needed to help release stress from time to time. It helps people to have a better mood as well as it also helps people to realize what they need in the environment they live in. However, these findings are true only for the 105 people who answered the questions who are working from home, but the result of this study indicates that work from home has had a positive impact on most people and people actually would like to continue working from home after MCO (Movement Control Order) has ended. The research has proven to be true that work from home gave individual freedom, productivity, flexibility and realised the environment plays a big role in it. 20
