1. Resume of Donald A. Waitzman, Jr.
02/76 thru 12/79: St. Regis Paper Co. – Customer Relations, Inside Sales.
01/80 thru 04/83: Piping and Supply Corp – Warehouse Manager then became Data
Processing Manager when I was asked to catalog the inventory on an IBM PC. I
successfully wrote programs in DBIII for data entry, record creation, and data base
management.
05/83 thru 01/87: Jefferson Home Furniture Co. – Data Processing Manager.
Responsible for all aspects of computer operations using proprietary EOM software on a
Data General hardware platform. Other areas of responsibility included supervisor of
computer operators and data entry personnel, PBX administrator, and general facilities
management.
02/87 to 08/15: ADP DealerServices
02/87 thru 01/91 – CTA supporting legacy DMS on Data General platform. I was one of
four CTA’s supporting roughly six hundred clients on this legacy product. Each CTA
supported all applications (accounting, payroll, parts, service, etc.) I was also responsible
for hardware and OS support. My major accomplishment during this period was the
development of necessary testing, operational procedures, and conversions to migrate
clients on an older DG hardware platform (S140/280) to the next generation DG platform
(DG/500). This included revamping several programs, procedures, and operations. At
the end of the testing period, when the product was approved and marketed, I was
responsible for scheduling, planning, and file conversions for client upgrades which I
performed onsite.
01/91 thru 04/93 - CTA supporting DMS on IBM System 36 platform. During this
period, my primary responsibility was to support the Systems applications including OS,
configurations, remote communications, backup, restores, etc. I also began supporting
internal items such as the PBX and voice mail.
05/93 thru 02/02 - Systems Group Supervisor - Responsible for interviewing, training,
scheduling, annual review, etc. for the Systems CTA’s. During this period, the DMS
evolved from the S/36 platform to multiple hardware platforms including stand alone
PC’s for small dealerships to AS/400’s for large dealerships to the genesis of the current
WEB1000 ASP based platform. We also were responsible for Systems support of the
legacy Data General System which was ‘sunsetted’ on 12/99.
During this period, I progressively became more involved in the facilities aspect of my
responsibilities. Around mid ’94 we installed AXIS and I became the AXIS ‘Ranger’.
Because we wanted metrics reports, I began writing reports using ‘English’ statements
and exporting the output to Excel and Word.
2. In mid ’95 with the help from networking personnel from Hoffman, we brought up the
BHM office on the WAN and I became Network Administrator. We began using
Outlook Express of which I became the Administrator. At this point, we migrated from
AXIS to Vision. I became Vision Ranger and continued to produce metric reports using
Crystal Reports.
Other highlights during this period include:
I was primary contact with hardware maintenance vendors including IBM, ADP
Depot Repair, DecisionOne, etc.
Purchased, staged, and supported laptops for AE’s
Completed testing of IBM 170 for Y2K installs.
Negotiated contract with McAfee for virus protection software. Became McAfee
administrator
Accepted proposals and managed installation of door and camera security system.
Became administrator for each.
02/02 to 01/07 - It became evident that I could not properly supervise the day to day
operations of the Systems support group and continue to manage the my other
responsibilities (network, PBX, security, metric reporting, application ranger, etc). My
Manager and I decided I would become Support Tools Manager.
Continue to develop and produce Metric Reports - Daily, weekly, and end of
month reports using Crystal Reports, Excel, etc.
Active Directory Administrator - Follow corporate procedures and guidelines,
maintain security, distribution groups, and calendars. Add/remove user accounts
and workstations.
Telephony Director - Definity G3I Administration, Octel 250 Administration -
add/remove users, punch down connections in phone room. Backups for both
systems are done by the Systems groups.
Security Administrator - CCTV (video camera) Administration, Pass Point Plus
Administration - add/remove users and cards, produce SOX reports.
SAMI – Coordinator
Vision Administrator
Teloquent Administrator
Witness Administrator
Primary support for Support, Admin group’s hardware – Including staging,
troubleshooting, and replacing PC’s, printers, etc.
McAfee Administrator – Primary coordinator in event of an outbreak.
Primary contact for interface with various vendors including building
maintenance, cabling, paper shredder, TV satellite, Muzak, etc.
01/07 to 08/15 – Senior Internal IT Support Analyst
3. I transferred to the ADP’s national IT support group as the local IT support person
for the Birmingham office. In addition to my duties as stated above, I was
responsible for maintaining all aspects of the local network, servers, PC’s,
printers, etc. The group also supported several hundred remote home based
associates.
Application / processes that I supported included but not limited to: Active
Directory Administration, DHCP Administration, Windows Server 2003 to
Windows Server 8, Microsoft Exchange Administration, Windows XP to
Windows 8.1, Microsoft MDT Imaging, RSA SecureID Administration, Sophos
Encryption Administration, Microsoft Lync Administration, Cisco United IP
Phone Administration, Microsoft Office products, Webex, Adobe products, Cisco
VPN, Internet Explorer, Chrome and a multitude of other various desktop
products.
Managed the conversion from the legacy AT&T Definity G3I PBX to Cisco IP
Phone system.
I was also involved in and project lead for several ‘Asset Refresh’ programs
which involved upgrading several thousand user’s PC’s when the old PC’s came
out of warranty. We would accomplish by upgrading groups of 200-300 at a time
by first determining the applications that particular group required, building and
testing the MDT image, then actually deploying the new PC’s to the users.
