EXPERIENCE
Forestry Systems, Inc.: 1998 – Present, Summerfield NC: Internal Technical Director
Creates, maintains and sells inventory control software and industrial hand held data collectors for the
hardwood log and lumber industry. Highly specialized inventory tracking with extensive cost control and
reporting, using hand held data collectors that are programmed for efficient, accurate and reliable inventory
creation and management. Provides solutions for approximately 900 customers in the industry.
• Key player in the design, development and implementation of new web based versions of existing
inventory control software. Managed implementation, migration and support of web based software as a
service model. Pre and Internal sales of all products Forestry systems offers. Managed internal product
development and support, with emphasis on business expansion, product functionality and usability.
• Managed product development and support of PC based software, with emphasis on business expansion,
functional enhancements and customer needs.
• Designed, programmed in Delphi, and maintained the Forestry Systems internal customer tracking
system (CRM plus) to record customer assents, maintenance status, hardware, software, support calls,
hardware repair authorization, loaner inventory allotment, non-maintenance billing, internal equipment
requests, bug reporting, and technician responses to problems. Exclusively supported and maintained
system since it went online in 2005 (still in use today).
• Worked as primary solutions architect and pre-sales engineer for the majority of new customer software
installations, from single user implementations to large multi-facility sales. Included customer workflow
design, third party software integration (usually accounting software such as Quickbooks, Peachtree,
MAS 90, and MAS 200), wireless network expansion, remote access assistance, on-site installation and
training, and primary post sales support.
• Developed in Delphi and executed a majority of data imports for new customers: examined and mapped
existing inventory data (from Excel spreadsheets to various databases) so existing customer inventories
can be migrated at time of install.
• Assisted in developing and was support and implementation lead for deploying a cloud-based sales tool
that bi-directionally synchronized customer data between local client databases and an FSI maintained
cloud server, to be accessed with our custom iOS software.
• For a period of 1-2 years acted as only PC software developer. Maintained, upgraded, and expanded
existing code-base including bug-fixes, customer specific customizations, and expanded functionality of
pre-existing software with new code and procedures.
• Scheduled and implemented on-site or remote/on-line software and hardware installation and training for

new or upgraded customers. This includes on-site software and hardware installation (hand held
computers, wireless infrastructure, industrial printers and scanners), face-to-face software training,
workflow development, on-site solutions engineering, assessing and communicating software
customizations needed by the customer to the programmers and implementing those updates in person or
remotely.
• Trained support and sales staff on new and updated software functions and usages as released.
• Assisted in assessing and hiring technical personnel.
• Managed modernization of handheld data collectors running Windows Pocket PC andWindows CE from
direct connections to Wi-Fi communications. Handheld data collectors went from TCAL based units
communicating via serial port to Windows CE devices. Assisted and oversaw migration from direct
connection communication to real-time communication via wireless for both the data collected and
independent handheld reporting as well as on-demand barcode generation. Developed and implemented
growth from LAN to WAN functionality for both the company and its customers. Played a key role in
developing, testing and deploying growth from peer-to-peer communication to current WAN procedures.
Cloud-based deployments are currently in development.

Spelamode, LLC: 2009 – Present: Webmaster
• Established, maintained and developed website for Spelamode, LLC: a consultancy on speech, language
and mobile development as well as patent litigation research and expert witnessing in the fields of speech
recognition and technology.
Totally Wired: 1996-1997, Princeton NJ: Manager of Technical Services
Totally Wired was a startup internet cafe in Princeton, NJ looking to begin a chain of easily accessible
internet services and access before the proliferation of free wireless internet.
• Managed the technical staff of a 30+ terminal Internet café from startup to daily operation.
• Developed and implemented one of the first Internet capable, multiple terminal, publicly available virtual
reality environments for commercial gaming software. The VR stations were 10 high end PCs with VR
headsets, custom “rumble chair” seating, and a suite of multi-player games (things like Quake, Decent,
and Diablo).
• Hired, fired and managed on-site support staff (10 members) to ensure customer satisfaction and systems
functionality.
• Assisted in developing, testing, and implementing custom user GUI and web interface to allow access to
the internet and other software that Totally Wired offered their customers (games, printing, word
processing, email, etc).
• Oversaw locally sponsored Internet and computer education classes provided on site.
