3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your final product?
• I experimented with the contents page and the back cover, and I also experimented with images and fonts.
On my magazine I will have a magazine cover, contents page, 6 pages of the magazine content (films)
which will include writing, images, interview, reviews etc, then I will have my back cover. I have done
several magazine front covers including in my last project, I did an adventure front cover, therefore I
thought I'd do a contents page and back cover because I haven't done them yet, this has given me some
experience with trying out different styles so now I know that I will do my contents page and back cover
the same layout as I did in my experiments, on each one I have a different film (Fast and Furious 9, Spider-
Man 3 or Godzilla vs Kong), this is because it appeals to more of an audience who like different action
films. Also, I am making sure the colour stands out in the front and back cover because of my experiment,
on the back cover I used a very colourful image for the background of Godzilla vs Kong which mostly
included purple, blue, green colours, which is why I used those colours as fonts also with a thin white
stroke, this is because it makes it stand out more, and helps the colours contrast from the background, the
masthead was in green text with a white stroke, the film title 'godzilla vs kong' was in the godzilla text with
purple and the information was blue with a white stroke, the reucurring theme of the white stroke is there
to make the text including the masthead, information, film title stand out, as white is a bright colour that
contrasts well with the background of a colourful city at nighttime. I downloaded several fonts I will use in
my magazine such as film nior, adventure, godzilla, king kong, adventures and evander. I got all of these
from the DaFont website. I also tried out adding videos to Photoshop, seem as though my film trailer will
be on it, so I added in a new layer which was my video, shrunk it down to fit my magazine size, and then
changed the FPS to 60, so now I know to add in my film trailer, which will be so much easier when I get
onto my production.
